Did you mean:

What's the most important PC part to upgrade first on a limited budget?

Hi everyone!

I hope you are doing well. I'm still learning about PC hardware and trying to understand what upgrades make the biggest difference in overall performance.

If someone is building or improving their PC on tight budget, what do you think is the first priority to upgrade?

For example:

Should we upgraded GPU first for gaming performance?

Or is a CPU upgrade more important for long term use?

Some people say RAM speed and capacity gives the best performance boost.

Other says upgrading to an SSD/NVMe makes the biggest difference in everyday use.

And what about the power supply how important is that for future upgrades?

I would love to hear your opinion, experience, and recommendations especially for those who have upgraded their system before.

What upgrade give you more noticable improvements?

Thank you for all your guidance! 😊

If you are planning on slowly upgrading over time I would suggest getting the best PSU you can afford at least 1000 Watts which will cover any AMD or Intel CPU with a high end GPU but if your considering something like a i9 with a 5090 then 1200 watts would be better but that isn't exactly a budget PC.

Good thing about the PSU it can be used for the next PC build they last a long time so no worries about being out of spec any time soon. It's the heart of the system so best to get the highest quality one that is in the budget.

For a tight-budget build, upgrading to an SSD from a hard drive gives the single most noticeable improvement in everyday responsiveness and boot times. After that, focus on the GPU for gaming.
