warranty rma worry

ok I am a bit worried since the issue I have encountered first time rma with asus on a max v extreme motherboard I saw the bbb now has a f rating on the company mostly on warranty repairs that were done and still issues with it I wanted a good z77 board to last me for college since I am partially disabled I was disaapointed that it sound and some unstability (bios I believed)issues arised in 6 months of use yes I am going to college for computers etc I am a average builder. I have to know is this going to be a good rma experience with this company or if I am going to screwed out of my motherboard I really liked the layout even the fact it used msata which I have with win 8 on it in order for me to take the mta exam on win 8. so could anyone tell me if they had good or bad experience with their rma I insured and packed the board properly when it was sent out, even the company I bought the board from said to call them if I have a issue with asus rma so they can intervein on my behalf I am curious as to why asus has the worse rating out of all the companies that make motherboards now .:(

the tech support people were kind, helpfull and friendly aside from the hours they have, but I was able to get through just find.

today will be worry it comes in to be checked I hate fedex they didn't even want to let place a change of address to pickup at their store and besides I see the horror stories from all companies and rmas some good some bad as for time for the fix and to sent back I give them credit on that part hopefully I have no issues or any type of damage from the repair department it is not easy keeping 4.0 average in college and studying for mta and comptia a+++ that's why I worry
bad enough Microsoft wants to see if they fixed the issue with win 8 keeps asking me if I got my board back yet hopefully it will be ok check back in the later part of the day software conflicts in the os it does sucs

evilmustang66, I'm sorry to hear that your nic card is down...

Have you double-checked in the BIOS if it's turned on? Also, did you re-instal the driver, do you have all the updates for it?
Did you do a clean OS install?

let put it to this way the board sound died it was sent out for repair when it came sound work for analog but intel Ethernet port ded no power device code 10 same as previous device issues gtx 590 I had with evga = dead why fix the sound and hinder my board yes all drivers were up to date etc I going to college for computers and this isn't my first build ethier evga take cares of it customer by not damaging the products when sent in for rma issues asus fix sound send board back with doa nic funny

If they did a BIOS update, then you may need to re-set your BIOS, re-install the drivers... and it may end up a mess - that's why I asked if you had a clean install of the OS since you got it?

bios update was same as it was when it went in asus sucks along with their customer service period the fact is I have a $400 board they ruined from the first rma and all they can do is oh sorry let just pay for shipping and try to fix that why cant they just man up send me a new replacement because now my college classes are about to start and guess what I have no high end system for to do my class work plus I missed my mta for win 8 now because of this mess so how the hell do they expect me to be nice about their %$#@ up in the first place

I use the msata with win 8 pro 250gb 2400 MHz gt dominator ddr3 32gb , 4 gtx 680 4gb 3 monitors ,3770k on h20 all for college

they need to deal with the fact the repair center is not checking the boards or they just have dumb blind people working their all I know if this board comes back screwed up a third time I am talking to a consumer warranty attorney I will be getting a full refund plus some damages back from them asus can go to #@!! cause I am pissed it took me almost a year to save up for a decent build I used my computer for school work and work right now I cant do **** the fact is if I can change out 3 cat 6 stp cables and not blinky light or anything bios set to default (was working when shipped to them)) yes I taking networking classes along with orther degrees

those same cables work on three other computers I tested from friends with my router plus a friend who is the field of computer repair even said the same thing a code 10 in device manager means the device is not working hell even evga has better tech and said same thing code is dead besides asus drivers sites are out of date I will be contact corpate on asus sides period .

Look, I see 2 options for you in this situation:
1. You continue to investigate what the problem is and TRY EVERYTHING to figure it out
2. You just give up on Asus and choose an another brand, EVGA if you wish

I do understand your frustration, but you have to understand that an extreme board is made for very specified reasons... for overclocking, more specificly extreme overclocking... As such those boards are extremely complicated and you do need to spend time to learn them...

Hence my suggestions before... I do know that code 10 in device manager, but for me it always was an error from my end... - I missed something in settings or did a bad installation of the OS or drivers... I'm not saying that your board can not be broken, just try everything before you make statements...

This is a support Forum and we try to help out each other... so, what if you list in detail your hardware, maybe some pics too and let the community chew on it? If we can not help, you always can link this thread to the service people so they will see what was tried and what has to be done yet... and then you have the possibility to contact some Asus people directly too - see HiVizMan's post #7...

Or you can choose to hate Asus and switch to an another manufacturer... when you're upset, it seems that venting out helps - but I'm telling you that the frustration will remain... if you give up, you will never know what was the real issue...

I agree with what Zka17 is saying.

I understand you are angry that your RMA didn't turn out as expected but I do suggest letting the community help you before you yell at ASUS.

Please let us know what troubleshooting steps you've already tried so we can start suggesting the next step.
