Third Party Software

Hey guys, so I've been playing around with my system lately and have one final thing I want to do. Right now I'm running the AMD rx480 ROG Strix edition which I can use Aura to have the lights work with whatever music I am playing at the time. My thing is i would like to get my mouse to do the same if possible.

I'm using the ROG Spatha (amazing mouse btw) and don't know if it's possible or not with a third part program. The basic idea behind it is there as it is capable of having the three different lights do different patterns (side buttons can breathe while wheel is static and logo cycles etc.).

If anyone knows of anything I could try that would be awesome and in a perfect world I'd be able to get my ROG Cerberus keyboard doing it as well, but that's VERY unlikely lol

Thanks in advance 😄

Hi Hosanin

Welcome to the ROG forum !

You will need a z270/x99 motherboard that supports Aura to control the mouse and keyboard lights.

Here is an example, click the pic to make it bigger.

Currently using a Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard. Haven't had an issue running Aura with my video card off this board, just didn't know if I needed a special download of Aura or even a third party program to get the mouse and running if possible. Should also add that the Aura software that came with my card literally comes up saying Aura (Graphics Card) if that makes a difference.

I do use the ROG Armoury for my mouse, but the only lighting options I get are; Static, Color Cycling, Trigger, Breathing, Random, Battery Mode. Worst comes to worst the wife gets this MoBo and I upgrade 😄
