SPECTRE and MELTDOWN: Bug rocks Intel / ARM CPUs

Kinda glad I bought AMD this round. For those who don't know there is a new bug affecting just about every SKU from Intel made in the last .. ohh.. _DECADE_ or so. It's actually worse then F00F or FDIV. Only mitigation appears to castrate the CPU upward of 30%! (depending on processes).

Can Asus confirm AMD and more importantly for me, this or any AMD motherboard are not affected? If so, will there be RMAs?

Fun fact, Intel's CEO dumped stock back in November before they started issuing gags on people from even talking about it.

Their support has literally told me upteen times that there will never be a BIOS for my Sabertooth Mark S and now there is one listed but not available for download.

I'm at least happy they're issuing one, hopefully, maybe. They've got a ways to go to get off my "never buy from, never have my company buy from, and tell everyone I know to never buy from them ever again" but if this BIOS shows up it'd sure help.

i think they have it there, to let us all know one is coming

they really should update all the way down to sandybridge,, as far as i know, sandy/skylake seems to be the most popular bases

iv noticed on far cry 5 i get allot off stutter, but i saw some guy with a titan xp (same 5820k as me) and he gets stutter too, but he isnt protected against spectre. so maybe its a game thing

he has 32gb ram, i have 8

hay , anyone here know where i can get DDR4 2GB dimms from?

or will i have to go SODIMM and use an adaptor, i wanna make the most off my quad channel bandwidth, and with my fury x 4096bit buss, it should be so seksey

fitting 64gb in my system, i wont ever get close to maxing my bandwidth

windows dont spread the load across dimms

LinusTechTips tried one of those adapters and found that SODIMMs were unstable at rated speeds and incompatible with standard desktop DIMMs (no mix & match). I don't know if there are better adapters but just make sure to read reviews on any adapter you might consider before you click buy.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station…

Anyone notice that the advisory page (see first post) is updated with new BIOS?

So looks like my x99-Deluxe has a beta BIOS --- anyone want to test it for me?

An Asus Manager told me there would be no BIOS available for my Z97 Sabertooth but did correct their previous Support agents and affirmed my Mobo was supported through 2020. I pointed out 3503 was listed from January and if they would not refund me nor would they support me, what the course of action would be, and today the 3503 BIOS is listed for my motherboard.

It's listed as a Beta, which makes me a little nervous, so I'm going to research how to flash back to the old one if I have to.

waiting for the stable one, my X99 Deluxe has too much unresolved problem to be a beta tester, once again.

is there someone who made some bench before and after the bios?
