Good for you!
I would never be able to do that by myself. I have a Sabertooth Z77 and an i5 2500k Sandy Bridge.
The sole fact that you were able to do it with relative ease (easy for you, impossible for me) put Asus in a truly embarassing position.
With all the engineers, or whatever, at their desposal, is it possible we have to do something so critical on our own?
I bought, at an hefty price, an Asus motheboard because I wanted the best components, which I got, and the best support...
I guess my next purchase will be directed to something cheaper.
I would be happy to change my mind, of course.

ASUS to me like Samsung which is a slow response to the security flaws.

You would think they might pull their finger out, given that they already have the FTC breathing down their neck for being slow to issue security updates.

Where is information about this?
The only FTC-vs-ASUS reports I could find online are dated from 2016.

I'm scared to do that, and this is why I'm waiting for ASUS to release one. When ASUS going to release the dam BIOS? After WW3 ended perhaps? My Acer laptop will get the BIOS update in April.

Patched & updated my X99-A board too today and works like a charm. Updating the bios took about 5min including the download of the tools. The biggest problem was to find a flashback compatible usb drive to get things started. So if you don't want to wait for ASUS to do their job just do it yourself.
Anyway this was an important lessons in life. I will never again buy any ASUS product.
Thx ASUS for nothing
