ROG GT-AX11000 router setup with an access point Asus RT-AC66U router.

I just purchased a ROG GT-AX11000 router and I'm trying to0 repurpose my Asus RT-AC66U router to work as an Acces Point at the other side of the house, but it just won't behave.

I even tried to upgrade the BIOS, which was ironically the same BIOS I downloaed for GT-AX11000. But it has a totally different UI.

But I have tried several times trying both repeater mode and access point modes, without success.

I can't seem to find any new guides for this, as my new GT-AX11000 has a super weird default gateway address of 192.168.50.1. While the RT-AC66U still uses the standard 192.168.1.1

I even tried changing th GT-AX11000 ip to 192.168.50.2 in case the new firmware for the RT-AC66U is also musing 192.168.50.1 and conflicting.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for everyone's help. 😛

I gave up on the built-in repeater and access point modes of the RT-AC66U (Rev 1.0) and I just manually set it up as an access point and it worked like a charm.
