I know people can't go in depth with them but will there be availability on day 1? I want a ROG board but I'm not going to be waiting around for it.

LoL nice

BTW are there any plans for releasing a Micro-ATX one with X370 chipset (counterpart of the Maximus Gene or the Strix Z270G) mobo?

Thanks!

Pretty excited for the new AMD line-up, you guys think it will stack up?

I believe AMD has found competition to Intel and Nvidia with Ryzen and Vega. But I also fear it may be short lived.

As good as current reviews of both entries are, that's as far as AMD has come to either of their main desktop rivals. We've yet to get a taste of either as common desktop performers where imperfections may make themselves known.

On the other end of the spectrum no one really knows what Intel and Nvidia have been withholding, hence my fear. For all we know both have a response to AMD waiting to usurp AMD's aggressors. Coffee Lake and Skylake-X as well as Nvidia's GTX 1080 Ti are bound to steam into the melee imminently. We also know Cannonlake is getting tuned as must be Nvidia's 10XX successor so AMD better discard words such as complacency and sleep from their vocabulary even IF their current lineup becomes a commercial success.

Soon, when many unbiased testers complete some serious mileage on their test benches we will find out whether Ryzen has the required horsepower to keep up with the current champion or if it is indeed another fuel hungry Piledriver veiled by a propagandist marketing facade with a pretty face but no torque. Vega's mainstream evaluation will follow.

I am behind AMD and if they pull this off and maintain parity they will secure my future business.
I'd like to deploy my troops in her country.

Its surprising to me that ASUS doesn't have a "Formula" and "Extreme" board for this lineup. All the other past iterations have (Crosshair 3 Formula, Extreme, Crosshair 4 Formula and Extreme, Crosshair V Formula and Formula-Z aka Extreme). What happened to it?

there has only ever been one crosshair extreme and that was the Crosshair IV Extreme. The Crosshair V Formula-Z was just a new revision for 'vishera' from the first released 'bulldozer' chips but was never considered an extreme. I've got my fingers crossed for the whole ROG lineup of AM4 motherboards as I think Asus would be completely stupid not to release them soon or at all.

Blimey! The most anticipated CPU launch within the last years, and ASUS doesn't give a damn...

I want something like the ROG Strix Z270G or the ROG Maximus VIII Gene with X370!

yea makes me wonder if Intel has cut a deal with them not allowing them to produce anymore X370 boards than they already have. *This is the biggest and most anticipated product launch for the past 5 years and we get 1 ROG board?! Something doesn't add up.*

I think it is not far from the truth considering that Intel's been releasing processors in the past few years. I guess any company would always go where the money is.

I think ASUS may be taking the conservative approach, if the market demands more boards ASUS will release them
At the moment with limited information it appears that OC headroom and available pcie lanes appear limited, this alone may keep it from competing directly with Intel HEDT platform, so they are still in a price per performance mode instead of direct competition, a semi-HEDT CPU limited to mainstream platform, not necessarily a bad thing and maybe a good thing
