Quitting Smoking?

Hey, so this might be a little off topic, but does anyone here smoke? My gf and I do, especially while online gaming, MMO's can be stressful :mad: , but we've been thinking about quitting, and i've tried several times without success....

Anyways, one of my coworkers is using e-cigarettes to stop smoking. This seems like a pretty good idea, especially for my gf, who has an oral fixation 😉 ...... haha jk. But i dont know anything about them, besides trying them once or twice.... they seem ok. Does anyone use them? If so what is a good brand that is cheap and actually works?

quiting smoking sucks sooo bad. Id rather be kicked in the nards.

I quite for a year and like a retard tried it again and going strong ever since. I didnt like the gums and patchs but the pills will make it easier. Zyban is AMAZING. Honestly everyone should be on this stuff and the world would be a better place. You can smash your thumb with a hammer and smile about it.

Canada has a new program where the government will pay for six months of any quite smoking product you want. Its a real incentive for those who cant afford the expensive quite smoking aids.

Good luck with kicking the habit. Your both better off without the monkey on your back......... and the money you save will pay for pc upgrades

@Jsl1ce: if you and your girl really want to give up, lock yourselves away for 3 days and keep your minds occupied. Yep, cold turkey together. Why 3 days? because it's apparently the time you need to be rid of the nicotine fully from your system, of course it takes much longer to stop the need or want for a cigarette. But, from a medical point of view...if you can go the initial 3 days, you're on your way to being smoke free....that is, unless you don't kill each other...as a lot of smoker's tend to be cranky without a smoke to start their day lol.

thanks everyone for all the good luck wishes, we really appreciate it....

we ordered some e-cigs from v2 because it was the best reviewed and one of the only ones who has actually tested their products, as far as the water on the lungs thing, its basically no different than a nebulizer. anyways we decided to give it a try... and so far we havent had a real cigarette in almost 10 days. the way we do it its saving us at least $340 a month and we are stepping the nicotine down each week, to eventually quit.

i have tried the gums, patches and even those chinese medicine pills, w/ accupuncture.... just about wverything besides hypnotism (im not letting someone hypnotise me lolz) and so far, these work the best, imo these are more satisfying than real cigarettes, ive tried a few disposable ones at gas stations and whatnot while i waited for these to come in the mail, and they sucked, but these ones are good imo. anyways, we hope to quit entirely... wish us luck

Ya i also smoke, you know after playing sometime we need to be relax and that time i need that cigarette. But the e-cigs because its much reliable to me. I don't like the tobacco cogarettes.

I quit shortly after getting sick for about 4 weeks during which I could only take very small puffs. I had a cold for two weeks then got a little better then got the flu for another two weeks. By then it was around my mom's birthday and I chose that day as my quit day. Psychologically I heard of something called justification which is where you keep doing something because you find reasons intellectually to keep doing it (other people do it, it's not killing me right away), but in your heart you know it is wrong. At first you count the days, then you count the weeks, and then you count the months. It has been 11 years now and breathing normally is something you really don't know that you're missing out on when you're a smoker. When I was a smoker I could only do 4-5 minutes on the elliptical machine before being completely winded now I can go up to an hour. Good luck!
