Please help! (MOBO VGA Solid red light)

Hey!

I'm currently having an issue with my build
Out of the blue my PC just overnight wouldn't boot.

Or well, when I turn it on all my fans turn, I can hear the HDD's, etc, but there's nothing on my display, and there seems to be no power going out to USB connections.

The VGA led light on my MOBO (Maximus VII Hero) and Code 98 is on the display ( Console input devices connect. )

Though sometimes it will miraculously start normally and may function with no problems until I decide to reboot and I'm back to start.

I've tried:

Reseating GPU, including other slots.
(ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 ROG Strix Gaming.)

Reseating ram, using one and one in different slots.
( 4x Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1600MHz 16GB. )

Tried using the onboard MOBO GPU DVI/HDMI.

Checked for no loose connections.

Reset CMOS, including removing battery.

That's all I can be able to think of at this moment in my frustration, I've searched far and wide all over the web to no avail.

Is it something i'm missing?
Could it be PSU ( Corsair RM750, 750W PSU )or MOBO gone faulty?

In advance thanks for all answers!

Yes, along with the MOBO's integrated graphics.
No luck on either unfortunately..

I might be fortunate enough to be able to borrow one from a friend later this evening, I'm hoping this might solve the problem but not to optimistic though 😕

Have you tried this card on another PC just to make sure it is not defective?

I'm pretty sure it's not the GPU seeing i've tried removing it completely from the PC and tried using the MOBO's DVI/HDMI, and problem still persists

Tested with another PSU problem still persists, seems sadly like it's the MOBO..

Hello,

What CPU and cooler are you using?
The CPU itself can cause issues if the socket alignment is slightly off so it is worth taking the CPU out to check the socket pins, nothing bent and re-insert. There are a lot of pins in the CPU socket so check carefully and take many photos if not sure.

Using the Intel Core i7-4790K Prosessor, along with Corsair H80i Hydro Series CPU Cooler, and the CPU haven't been touched since I put together the system in early 2015 and worked flawlessly since then until now, could it just wander out of alignment, bending pins?
