PC died suddenly, Q-code 8. Please help

Hello.
I'm a complete newbie here, so please excuse me if this has been answered before.
I built my new machine last week with a Crosshair 6 Hero, Ryzen 5 2600 and 2x8GB Corsair Vengenace LPX 3200 MHz RAM.
First thing I had to do was to flash the BIOS before my board would boot with the R5 2600, but I got the 7106 BIOS off Asus' website, copied it to a USB stick and renamed it without any problems.
Flashing was done succesfully in about 6 minutes and everything started working fine.

Yesterday, I was browsing the net when suddenly my PC crashed. Blank screen, all the fans are spinning but nothing else works, and I et a Q-code of 8.
I disconnected my PC from the power, left it alone during the night and this morning I re-flashed the BIOS to 7201, again from Asus' website.
No joy, still Q-code 8.
I've been reading a lot of information all over the web, but I can't find any kind of coherent source on how to deal with this error or even what it is.

Here's my current plan: I'm going to leave my PC off tonight, with the CMOS battery removed and completely disconnected from mains.
After 12h of this, I'll replace the CMOS battery, reconnect power and try to re-flash BIOS to 7106 (the one that worked before...).
If anyone has any advice for me about this, i'll be very grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like this worked to some extent. After CMOS clear and a BIOS re-flash (to 7106) there's no more Q-code 8, but a code 62, with white (VGA) light. I'll check and reseat my GPU and see where this lead me.
One thing Asus could do a lot better: have better description of the error codes on your manual. The ones in your current manual may be very nice and informative for Asus Motherboard techs and engineers, but they are next to useless to enthusiast PC builders.
