I've read rumors nvidia 1000 generation would not be using hbm2 memory at all....do you guys think this is true? Apparently amd polaris will use it.

Looking to upgrade my video card when new cards come but i hope they would be with the new memory technology or i won't.

What's worrying me more, is that games haven't really improved much graphically these last 3 years, we're just getting same graphics with less fps somehow.

Probably partly because of console games compatibility. If they make too fancy games consoles can't run em.

More than partly. The latest gen consoles were released with specs well below the PCs at the time....the gap to an SLI Pascal system will be immense...

They have stopped updating this graph which already has a log type scale on the y axis to keep PCs on the same page...

But of course we are forgetting that consoles are 60% better than PCs out of the box LOL

Yep as hardware keeps getting more and more powerful, what does it really matter if games can't keep up because of consoles. What's the use of having top tier card like Pascal titan. Well, atleast you probably getting high fps. And ofcourse 4k needs a lot of power.

Yes, 4K is the next step...to keep it interesting...

I read somewhere there's not too much difference in image quality compared 1440p vs. 4k. I like 1440p though, i just made transition from 1080p while ago.

I went to 1440p not long ago, too. I've never seen 4K but from the size of icons, font, etc I'll probably not switch. I can't imagine the image quality difference would be worth the price.

Oh my friends 4K is so nice, I have been using a 28" and 32" 4K displays for awhile now, I set icons to 125% and they fit quit nice, I haven't been playing many games lately and I wish there was more 4K content but they are so sharp and clear, especially my 32" Benq, my 28" is an Acer and purchased it because of the low price and didn't like using my second computer with a 30" 2560x1600 display it just didn't look the same any more
As for Pascal, as Arne said Nvidia has the the model the last 2 generations where the mid level card gets released first as it beats out the last generations top end card, then they release the top end, but how knows until it hits the shelf, I'm pretty sure I'll buy at least one of the first release, more power using lease energy is a good thing

What i have seen so far...not sure the specs are accurate or not...i will probably get the titan version that uses hbm2 or 1080ti. I suppose the titan would be the highest tier card?

This is the first card...tesla card and it is cut down.... http://www.techspot.com/news/64351-nvidia-first-pascal-gpu-tesla-p100-hpc.html

So does not bode well for full GeForce card any time soon...

I'll be waiting for the magic 3840 number...

Yeah, looking like 17 for a Ti at this point... Looking great for computes (though we have to see pricing), but less clear that games are going to see the sorts of improvements that HPC is with NVLink and FP16 boosts. What we really need is new product to make the prior generation cheaper for SLI stacking LOL
