allright here goes.
my Asus hero 6 died on me couple months ago, one day i want to put on my pc and when i push the power button i hear a pop and a bunch of smokes comes out of my case,
i was like WTF, so i open up the case and smell the obvious burn, so i took out the motherboard and noticed the eatx12v connector melted down.
i thought ok still under warranty so time for an RMA, i call the shop where i bought the motherboard and they tell me to send it in, no problems there.
ok so after sending the board in i wait a few weeks or a month..
suddenly i got an call that a replacement was underway, i was like cool all good here.
so i receive the replacement board and the problems start.
first of all i sended the motherboard with its original box and i/o shield nothing else no cables nothing since i thought this wouldnt be neccesary.
the replacement i got was without a box or i/o shield, so i was like WTF how can the manufacturer send up a replacement without a box or i/o shield.
then i open up the cpu socket and notice a bended socket pin? here i lost my cool and called back the shop where i bought it from and explained i was not satisfied with this replacement.
i take a picture of the bended cpu socket pin and tell them there is no box and no i/o shield either, so they ask me to send the motherboard back to them
after 2 weeks i receive the replacement board once again, ok i got a box this time and the i/o shield but notice the shop just corrected the bended pin.
i decide to call the shop again and explain the situation again and that i notice the repair on the bended socket pin, and ask if they tested this motherboard about its working state, they tell me they tested it and that its boots but can not guarante if the board wont give me problems in the future or about its performance.
i have asked the shop for the RMA number wich they contected ASUS with, i have not yet received this number, and will call them back tomorrow.
this whole rma thing bugs the hell out of me, how can this be that they send my broken motherboard to the manufacturer and that i receive this crappy replacement back, i also notice that the board in my opinion is bended?
