Hey everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name's Rob and I just recently finished my first gaming rig (build in signature).

Prior to this build, I had an AMD Phenom X4 with various parts that I accumulated over the years. Recently switched from a console to PC gamer, so I decided that for Xmas, I was going to buy myself a present!

Let me know what you guys think of my build! I'm looking into overclocking(hence the 3770K). I am in the midst of doing my research so that I understand what is going on and I do it safely!

i just buillt and put together my first computer, this year ive bein doing allot of reading into computer hardware and i am addicted to maximumpc mag and im new at overclocking seams i know nothing at all about it expt for rog ai suite that automatically overclocks for me lol i enjoy lots of pc gaming i dont think i could ever go back to a console and there crappy graphic i had bought a prefab computer for to much money when i decided to go back to pc and i didnt know much about graphics cards ssd cpus so the only have decent part of what i bought was the i7 3770 and then founf out it wasnt overclockable with out the i7 3770k one but thanks to rog i go a decent overclock at 4.3 out of it other than making the mistake of buy a computer i started to put toghere my own slowly so now im all done for now .....maybe not
but heres what i have all toghere
rog maximus v gene
i7 3770 @ 4.3ghz
gtx 680 zotac 2 gb
a hitachi 2 tb hdd
runing nvidia surround 5760x1080 on three samsung sync master led 23" screens i do have a few questions on the rog maximus v gene
i have pluged in the usb 3.0 hook ups on the board to feed my usb 3.0 port on my case which there are two of them,i cant get them to even power any thing usb 2.0 or work period i installed the new drivers from asus still nothing then installed the once on the rog driver disk still nothing i am wondering because im still using my case from my old computer which is a HP is the plugs arent compatible because i noticed that the place where i pluged in the power button switch the blocks didnt macht up so i just plugged it in such a way that just the power button switch posts match up so mabye its just my stupid hp case please let me know what you think one of you gurus out there allso any advice on a cases for my asus maximus v gene thanks ..

@3sgterror, welcome and the 3770K is a very fast chip, even without OC'ing. I am sure that @metalmanic69 can tell you, considering that he is running one OC'ed. 🙂
