Whats Up Folks?
Jumped through the hoops and I could post a couple hours later.
First ASUS was an A7V-266E when XP came out with a 1GHz cpu. A8R32-MVP with an opty170 was my favorite, massive bandwidth and at that time teaming the two lan ports seemed to make a difference when opening a folder with ten tabs in it. Still got that one, with that LOUD PCP&C 510 psu.
CH III was good, CH V-Z OK, my new CH VI Hero seemed finicky with 0902 a couple days ago, but 1001 has made things better for me. Excited about this new build.

In other words I trust & love ASUS motherboards including my new one since I got the leds all red with aura instead of those d*mn pastel colors!

I'm a geezer from the days of ferrite bead "core" memory. I've messed with personal computers quite a bit over the years but had never assembled a complete custom system - until now. I chose the ROG Maximus IX Hero. The assembly went very well (with the help of some YT videos I found. My main worry was that it wouldn't boot for me; but it booted fine on the very 1st attempt. No errors. Bios only reported the cooling system - which was expected. The motherboard manual that came with the motherboard was extremely helpful. I'm using the computer mostly for CAD, and some gaming. I've got a lot to learn before I'll have the confidence to the plunge into OC territory - but I know I want to experiment with OCing eventually.
