Hello Im J. I own a GL553VE ROG. Am currently living in Manila and I bought my laptop from Amazon and had it shipped from the US. A few weeks ago , my laptop died when I forced shut down. The BIOS froze after 3.0.6 update (stupid NFS payback and NVIDIA driver update) after I noticed flickering and BSODs. Basically no display what so ever. Anyways more on that problem in the subforums. There are signs of life with motherboard activity yet it is frozen.

I just wanted to say thank you to those who have tried to help me fix this annoying problem. To the ones that sent me disassembly photos and possible solutions.

My name is rfkennard. I'm not a gamer, but I like a good computer (I just bought the GL753VE - my first laptop). I hope I can help others with some issues they may have with their laptop. I've been dabbling with personal computers since the IBM PC with 64K of RAM, color graphics adapter, 5-1/4" floppy drive, an RGB monitor, and DOS 0.5.

Hi all,

New to the forum, names Mitch. I have always been in to computers but only recently got back in to gaming.
Built my wife a new streaming PC with a Ryzen 5 1600 MSI board and GPU and all the RGM lighting you can think of.

So i got the older PC i built many years ago, which I am happy with as now I can learn now to overclock play around with
the hardware and not worry if i break something.

My rig,
AMD FX-8350 currently OC 4.4 at 1.36v

Asus Crosshair V Formula Z
16g Kingston HyperX Blu 1600
Gigabyte GTX 770
CoolerMaster B700v2 (700w)
Custom NZXT Phantom 410

Future plans
1000w or 1200w PSU
2 x GTX770 is SLI (because I already have a second one)
Noctua NH-15D
Replace all the thermal pads and paste on the NB and SB heatsinks
OC it as fair as I can hoping 4.8 to 5
New case undecided yet.

I saw that you wanted feedback from Bios 1101 users; so far, so good. I thought I was experiencing some "slow-on-the-uptake" moments, but a few bios tweaks fixed that. To introduce myself as a new member, I bought the ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi) and couldn't be happier. Of course the two new exploits Meltdown and the other bothers me, but I hope that will be addresses at a bios level and may already have with this bios.

Hi!

My name is Daniel and im a gamer and musician from Sweden.
You usually find me in my studio/gaming room working on some tunes or playing some games or just listening to vinyl.
I have been gaming since around 1995 but it became more intense around the shift to 2000 and I got my first own pc 2001 from my mother.
A few years after when I had gotten a job and earned my own money I started to build my own rigs. I tried to read as little as I could cause I figured I wouldn't deeply understand how things work unless it hurt or got really expensive. So a lot of rigs where built using trial and error. Mostly built gaming rigs but I just recently took a step up to HEDT.

The system I have now is very good and im super pleased with it.

Any way thats me with few words. Looking forward being a member of these forums.

can you help me out, My Asus Rog Gl552VW ports were working correctly and later got to know my left side 2.0 USB ports only charges the phone but fails to mount, external hard drives all work correctly when connected but inserting pen drives or wireless mouse doesn't work in the 2.0 ports. The 3.0 USB port works 100 %.Please Help me out:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Make sure to post your technical questions in the appropriate hardware forum. In this case it would be the G series notebook area.
