Hey everyone. New to the forum. Just picked up a ROG Strix GTX 1080 OC graphics card. What gaming I do is at 1440P so the Ti was overkill for my needs. Damn is this card massive! It just barely fits in my case. 🙂 Though I'm very impressed with how cool and quiet the thing is even under load, so all those fans and massive heatsink are definitely worth it. With the disappointing Vega launch, I'm coming back to Nvidia after taking a brief dip in the AMD pool because power and noise are important to me, not to mention the performance gap. They released some great new processors, but I don't think they'll ever leapfrog Nvidia on the graphics front. Though having a Freesync monitor it was a big hit to switch and then get a G-sync one. I've already sold my RX 480 and hopefully can sell my Acer monitor to recoup a small portion of the cost. I've been tweaking my build and putting the final touches on design (cables, lighting, etc.) so I should have a build to share soon.

Hi all,

I have been into computers from way back in the Commodore Vic20 days.

I've tried just about every brand there is to try but I am a bit of an AMD fan.
I have always found ASUS to be products with the least trouble.
For the first time though I have picked myself up an Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VI. (never had a ROG board before)
What a fantastic board! Great watercooling features but personally I am a fan of Noctua so I could possibly have done with another fan header or 2. I love that it has a P-STATE Overclocking feature!!!!!!!
I've been around on forums and various websites for years. BIG fan of troubleshooting and helping others; on IRC or forums. or in person.
I also love my gaming. As with most peope.. the only thing that limits me is ... money, lol.
