DOOMy
Level 7
Hi,

my Name is Dominik - since the first LAN-Parties in the End-90's all named me DOOMy 😉

I am 39 and from germany.

Since the first PC i build up from scratch and with all new components, the choice was ASUS. In the 90s very expensive, i have to say...but the quality was outstanding 😉

And now i bought a MAXIMUS IX APEX!!! 😉

And so i am here

Hello my name is Ron
I have little experience with forums so hopefully I won't break the rules at all. I have a Maximus IV Extreme board I have not had it that long I upgraded from a Rampage 3 board. I am using windows 10 but with limited drivers I have tried the 8.1 drivers but I am not sure if and what I am missing,so I wonder if I can still get the original motherboard disc anywhere if anyone would know.

The forum section for your motherboard is now a combined section here:
https://rog.asus.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?155

So feel free to post any questions you have there. Regarding drivers, the best way is to go to the ASUS website and search for your model in the support section. That will have the latest drivers validated for your board, newer than the ones on the disc but older than the ones Windows 10 has.

Hi everybody,

I’m Luke from Italy. Just finished to assemble my new pc. I really hope you can help to solve my problem so that I can start using it!

I was bitten by the PC bug back in the 80's and still feeling the effects of it today. My first "PC Per se'" was the C64. I then moved on to try out the 8088 and all the subsequent x86 architecture from then on. With custom PC's really taking shape around the 3 and 486 era. Needless to say, I've been around a while and saw quite a lot over the years. I still build custom PC's for customers and myself. I have always been a Huge fan of Asus products. Way back when, Asus was just getting started but had already made quite the name and if you owned an Asus board you were definitely an enthusiast. I have, and have had, many Asus boards, along with their other products. I currently run the RVE10 in my setup and I just built my wife a new system a few weeks ago and used the Strix X99 in it. So anyway, I am a bonafide tech junky. I am a DIE HARD PC gamer and builder. I have been loyal to PC's for over 30 years and don't intend to stop until I'm dead. Glad to be part of yet another group of enthusiasts who share a passion like I do. Thanks for having me!

Hi all,

This is my second ROG board (had an early ROG Formula for core2duo E8400, iirc it had nvidia chipset!), although I have always used Asus, apart from using an MSI board, that was a horrible experience. Gigabyte were slightly better, but I always come back to Asus.

I have just gotten hold of the Crosshair Hero VI and a Ryzen 1700. Just in the process getting it up and running at the moment. I now have just about everything ready to go. Last night before bed I managed to update the bios to 0902 from the USB function. So hopefully once I get home tonight I can boot her up and see whats what! Cant wait to get my teeth into it.

FWIW I have upgrade from (hopefully) from an i7 2600k, that has served me well for the last 6 years or so.

I'm at work so better go...... 🙂

Cheers,
