Hi guys,

My first-ever build. I've been playing around with computers for many years and have replaced many components, but I'd never built one from scratch. So far, I'm very happy with the way this one turned out. My specs:

Motherboard: Maximus VII Formula
CPU: 4790k
Memory: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance (1866 MHz)
Graphics: Asus GTX 970 Strix
PSU: Corsair AX860
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S (with a second fan added)
Case fans: Noctua NF-A14
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro (512 GB)
HDD: Western Digital (2 TB)
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe

In preparation, I spent a lot of time watching YouTube videos, reading reviews and reading forums like this one. The system handles Prime95 and Unigine Valley really well. CPU max temp under load is about 70 degrees.

My name is Will. I help sick people during the day by taking Xrays, and after work I'm a PC gaming junkie and proud of it! 😉

I've used and loved ASUS parts and products for years and the ROG line has always been top notch since I started using them 2 years ago. My current rig is built around my second ROG mobo (first as a Crosshair V formula) and boy is it a beast. I will hopefully be updating my rigs specs on my profile next week as I plan to replace my Titan with SLI Matrix Platinum 980's. Can't wait to get that goodness in my tower!
