Lurked here a bit, finally figured out my new build and decided to join. Been building PCs since my first 386-16. First PC was a 286 so been at it a while. Just rebuilt my old a8n32-sli deluxe for my mom, and re-purposed my EVGA 790 Ultra SLI as a server. My new gaming rig consists of an Asus Maximus V Extreme, 240MSATA for the OS, two 3TB Segate drives in raid 0 for games and programs, 32gig G-Skill 2400 memory, 2 x 3gig 580 EVGA in SLI, LG BlueRay burner, and a 1tb drive for data backup (also have a SAN with 2x750gig for backups).
Was in photo sales then digital imaging, then re-purposed myself into IT. Currently working at an IT firm (think 3 letter name) in aerospace industry, but will also be leveraged into GOV support (getting background checked currently). IT Security, antivirus and intrusiion detection, and also pinch hit desktop support at my local work place and do account security also.
So while I am no stranger to the hardware and software, this new Maximus board is way different from the 790 board that I had tweaked and OC'd. It worked well, but it's good to be back with Asus, stuf's been reliable.
When I am not messing with computers, I am out cycling 4x4ing or target shooting.
And AsterAstoria here is my sister; she suggested I join and figure out how to OC this new board.
