Hello all, like the title says my Crucial MX300 M.2 SSD isn't showing in my bios or disk management. The weird thing is it did right after I updated to the latest BIOS. I waited until I purchased an external hdd to back up my OS but when I looked at disk management and then BIOS it wasn't there.

I have same problem. I hooked up a new unallocated MX300 525GB to a Rampage V Extreme using an eSATA cable to front panel port plus a separate SATA power connector, and it is not detected by BIOS v3701 or by Windows 10 disk manager. I duplicated this setup with my old system running Windows 7 and voila! It detected the MX300 and allowed me to initialize and format it. I have two external eSATA ports on my R5E system and neither one worked.

I tried an ancient Crucial M4 120GB SSD with the eSATA setup and still R5E Win 10 can't see it.

When I initially setup my R5E it had no problem detecting and allocating a Samsung 850 PRO. I wonder what is going on here. Is the problem from (1) ASUS UEFI BIOS, (2) Win10 Fall Creator Update, or (3) firmware on the Crucial SSDs? I find little info on Crucial or MS support.

Another thought that occurred to me: maybe there are no Crucial MX300 Secure Boot Keys in the Secure Boot Data base of the UEFI BIOS? My MX300 is in a USB enclosure now. But you may want to temporarily disable Secure Boot and see if your MX300 will then be recognized in BIOS and Win 10 Disk Manager. In my BIOS, you would go through the following menus/steps: BOOT > SECURE BOOT > KEY MANAGEMENT > CLEAR SECURE BOOT KEYS. The keys will then display as "UNLOADED". To restore Secure Boot and reload the keys: BOOT > SECURE BOOT > KEY MANAGEMENT > INSTALL SECURE BOOT KEYS. The keys will display as "LOADED". Let me know if you try this.
