Is ASUS coming out with a newer version (rev) of Maximus VI Formula

Hi

I have all my hardware except for my motherboard and DVD/CD Rom Drive.
I have been looking at ASUS Maximus VI Formula and the Hero. I have been leaning to the Formula, but the reviews on
NewEgg and a few other sites have me concerned about the USB issues , RAID, and a few other hardware DOA's etc.

I have had the Formula and the HERO in my cart for month and a half now, but see no signs of negative reviews letting up. I noticed that NewEgg is out of the Formula and was wondering if somewhere it has been mentioned a new rev (fixes) or other (BIOS) is about to come out - or if just newegg is out of stock and not a recall or anything like that or a Version update.

I really like the features of the Formula, but not sure if I should wait a bit for better manufactured (Rev'd) formula mobo or just get the Hero. Any input helpful

Also one last question - Can i just leave the Cross chill air/fan cooled and not worry about water cooler blocks pump radiater etc for that?

my current rig purchases thus far.

the hydro NB is up to you how you want it.
water oif you want to go custom cooling.
on air if you dont want to go the custom cooling way.
there "may" be a v2 out of it whit out saying 100% for shure.

try and mail newegg and ask them, bether that then to be unshure.

The cooling question was more if i don't use water on the NB or SB will Air/Fan cooling fron the case be enough. Sorry I was not clear on that, the other question was in regards to the problems/bad reviews of the Formula board and USB issues DOA's etc, I just was wondering if NEWEGG was out of stock because of the issues and waiting for a new batch release or rev change or sold with updated BIOS because of complaints, really just trying to determine- do I
A. wait for February batch of new formulas and are they different or same issues,
B. do I buy a HERO MB
or
C. Just buy a VI Formula from somewhere else - figuring no changes in mfg or design to fix compalining issues.

Just trying to get a idea on whats good decision as I like the Formula, but dread thinking i will end up with a DOA , USB issue, or other and having to RMA- guess i hoping reason NewEgg doesn't have them is waiting for ASUS to fix issue - or is it there just so dang popular?

thanks

Is ASUS coming out with a newer version (rev) of Maximus VI Formula to fix issues

My VI Formula was a Day one release purchase and still going strong without any problems and gives me a stable overclock of my 4770k @ 4.6ghz on 1.25v. Heck i didn't even care about the whole C1/C2 stepping fiasco people were whining about at the time as long as it works as intended for my uses. Usually alot of negative comments trump the good because the satisfied consumers don't bother with a review or comment about a fully working product at all. I know im guilty of that since i cant even remember when i bothered to go back to newegg or other sites to write how awesome my products are unless there is a problem with it. IMO the Maximus VI Formula is an Awesome MoBo and a great choice. 🙂

they are out of stock, aka they are sold out and awaiting new shipment.
they have sold hundreds i bet and there is just a fraction that MAY be DOA or even the ppl them self did it.
or it may have been another component that did not work on them and they sent back both and got new ones+++++
it may have been the CPU that died and they sent back the mobo+++
or they even shorted it out+++
you can use the NB ( hydro cooling part ) whit air, no problem at all.
its designed to do both so dont be afraid of that.
if its hero or formula is up to you.
i my self have had the m5f since it came out and have had no problems so to say exept when adding new hardware and its been acting up but i figured out the things and got it to work in the end.
if you desside to buy it and need help dont be afraid to come back here and ask for guidance or help.
if you want it from newegg is up to you, or get it from another place.
its your choice in the end.
