how to get 4 external USB port on ROG helios with rog crosshair viii dark hero?

Hi

Just built my new config in a ROG Helios case and I was surprized to not be able to get the 4 USB 3 ports working on top of the case?

What am I doing wrong?

I noticed on the MB USB 2 ports connectors... in 2021???

I can only get the USB C port working and 2 of the 4 USB type A, not the last 2... 😞

Can't believe a top MB like the crosshair viii dark hero does not have enough port to connect to. What a disapointment if true.

Can you please help?

The Crosshair VIII Dark Hero only has 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 header, so you can only have 2 front panel USB 3 type A ports.  You can either use the blanking plugs supplied in the accessories kit for the Helios to blank off the other 2 type A ports; or you can buy a USB 2 to USB 3 header adapter to connect the second pair of ports to one of the two USB 2.0 headers (if you have one that's not being used for anything), and run them as USB 2.0 ports.

You could, alternatively, get a USB 3 PCIe card if you really need 4 USB 3 ports on the front panel, or an adapter cable to connect the second pair of ports to the rear IO USB 3 ports.
