How do I prevent Win 8.0 from automatically updating to 8.1? I DON'T WANT 8.1!

Hi folks;
I keep seeing a blue ribbon flash across my screen asking to update to 8.1 "NOW" or "ASK LATER". These are the only choices. Windows 8.1 driver issues are too squirrely for me right now and to be honest I'm happy with 8.0.

Several weeks back the update started without my OK and I did a hot button shut down to stop it. When I restarted my laptop I performed a system restore to get rid of whatever download made its why on to my computer. I really don't want to have to keep doing that.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Why don't you want 8.1? What driver issues?

Win 8.1 is superior to win 8 in every way why dont you want it??

Do the upgrade and download any drivers you need from the Asus support site. I am running windows Technical review build 9879 now and have no problems. If you need help with sound or keyboard lights contact the forum for specific help.

Well...... there are many people that want to install Windows 7 on an ASUS ROG g7xx machine after it's purchase because they're used to it I suppose. I'm used to Win 8.0 for now and nearly all I read about someone that installs 8.1 over 8.0 has USB problems and difficulty with sound etc., just don't want to mess with it now. In any case I managed to dig deep enough into the "Task Scheduler" to fix my problem; but thank you for the responses.
Incidentally, have the driver issues been handled that were causing problems with the update to 8.1?
Thanks,

You should be able to get an ISO of the latest 8.1 build somewhere if you don't want to update the normal way.

But from what I am aware of all update issues have been resolved. 8.1 is much better 🙂
