You can extract the installer, the files are located here : [...\RST_x64.msi\drivers.cab\x64]

Thanks i extracted the installer using Command Prompt using these arguments -a -a -p and got a x64 folder with the files i need to install through device manager.

I can install those 11-26 chipset drivers on the maximus x code right? Also, for the MEI, I believe that updated when I flashed the bios to 1704? Is that correct?

Hi,

Yes, you can.

Do not confuse Intel MEI (Management Engine Interface) drivers that you can find on this thread and Intel ME (Management Engine) firmware that you can find here : https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?105726-FIRMWARE-Intel-ME-(Z170-Z270-Z370).

Intel ME firmware can be updated with the BIOS update or manually.

But anyway, you do not need to do Intel ME firmware update manually, the BIOS 1704 that you currently have already contains the Intel ME firmware 11.8.55.3510 (the latest).

Ok so I SHOULD do the drivers then? Where do I check my version? Installed programs or device manager? Thanks for the help

Uninstall your current Drivers & Software version (Start > Settings > Apps) before installing a Drivers Only version

Ok this is what I see. So I simply delete the "management engine components" and manually delete the driver from device manager? Or can I click update driver?

Just uninstall your current Intel Management Engine Components from here : Start button > Settings > Apps

After doing this, install the Intel MEI drivers by following the process indicated on the thread :

--------Install/Update process : Right click on "heci.inf" > Install
---------------------------------------------Wait for the message "The operation completed successfully" or for restart request

Im doing this now..i dont get it. The inf file opens a text document. Did I not do something right? i just uninstalled the MEI stuff from apps, then I extracted the driver, which contained a folder named x64, as well as a file names heci and another inf file names heci. I click in and its a text file.... what am I missing?

EDIT: nevermind nevermind Im an idiot. I just didnt extract it right. I feel like files dont extract "at once" like they used to in windows, maybe its just me. Anyway, where can I confirm that I have both the MEI and chipset as these newest versions. Device manager? Just wanted to make sure. thanks

I have the Z370 Wi-Fi edition. Is my bios ok as well and it comprehends the Intel ME Firmware?
What is this Intel ME Firmware, and why is it possible to flash separately??

I was assuming that if with a Drivers version, as in the Settings > Apps I was not seeing nothing, I was ok in installing directly the new one on top without removing nothing.
Am I mistaken something?

Thank you.
