Thread updated.

This version number is confusing as the previous one was 6.0.1.8673, is this latest one actually newer or is it an error?

Hi,

This is the latest version, Realtek has decided to change the naming syntax of its drivers by moving .1 at the end of the naming (probably in order to give the possibility to deploy, if necessary, minor versions .2, .3 etc, in order to fix minor bugs without deploying major versions).

Thanks for the reply MoKiChU

My Sonic Studio 3 stopped working abruptly after a microsoft update, and I tried to get it from microsoft store, it just get stuck on the splash screen.

I tried the latest link from this post but it said that the drivers need to be installed first when I tried to install Sonic Studio 3 from the executable, and I did install the audio drivers first too.

What I did to finally make it work was to download a driver package + Sonic Studio 3 for a different motherboard than what I have. I downloaded the Maximus X Hero stuff and installed it on my ROG z390-F, and now Sonic Studio 3 is finally working again.

It does seem a bit unreliable sometimes though, like the effects not applying all the time, but I'm happy if it works at least 50% of the time instead of 0%

Mokichu, I see these drivers get updated often, almost weekly, is there a place where we can see the changelog as to what changed in each driver update?

That would be really handy but I can't see it happening unfortunately 😞

Hey, I'm on the Asus Hero Alpha Z170, and on Realtek FF03 6.0.8688.1 using the latest version of SSII. When I update, I typically do it through device manager>sound, video and game controllers>realtek high defintion audio>update driver>browse my computer for driver software>select downloaded realtek file (folder). This typically never fails and updates without a problem.

When I try to update to 6.0.8703.1 WHQL this way, it tells me I already have the best driver already installed. What gives? It won't install to 8703.1

I've tried installing with the Setup.exe, but that just continuously goes through a loop of uninstalling and reinstalling some older driver, then asks me to uninstall and reboot and won't update to the 8703.1.
Z790 Asus Hero Maximus on 0816 BIOS (0914 and 1202 crashes for me on XMP I), Intel 13900k stock clock, Asus 4090 Strix OC edition, FF3D532G720 Teamgroup Ram running XMP I, 16gb x 2, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB x 2, Seasonic VERTEX GX 1200W, Win 11 Pro 64, Deepcool LS720 AIO, NZXT H7 Flow. Comfortably using Armoury Crate for updates/fan xpert.

Hey MoKiChU, I'm already on Win10 1809, OS build 17763.504. Still stuck on Realtek 6.0.8688.1 that I grabbed from this forum post. It seems that it's only 1 out of every few driver releases that will allow me to update.
