The last Asus board I had was a P5Q deluxe. I have an Asus Xonar pci card which I have used for around 15 years too.

I learned today in a video by Debauer that the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII dark pro has a feature to switch between single thread and multi thread overclocking on the fly which sets it apart from all other boards.

My question is does the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII pro also have this functionality, because it is the only one I've seen for sale on both overclockers.co.uk & scan.co.uk (I'm from UK).

TBH £390 is a little more than I think I would like to pay for a motherboard and I hope this feature makes it's way into lower tier boards. I currently have a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite and I like gigabyte as a manufacturer but not as a software developement team (a big plus was the included fan control via bios on the Elite, so I don't need software for that most basic function).

Also I have Patriot Viper Steel 4400 2x(2x8GB). Its not supported or on the Gigabyte QVL list, Debauer mentioned 4000MT/s kits being usuable with Zen 3 and I've just bought a 5900x. The thing with this RAM on the Gigabyte is that you must set the procODT manually to 40ohms from 53 and I'm just wondering if Asus has a little better compatibility with this ram at default.
