Thats an Intel board and you have an AMD cpu..

Id go with the CrossHair V Formula for the same money..AM3+
Second, Id skip the 4gb ram sticks...
or read through the forum here (lots of info on this,
even a 'hey, what you using?' thread)
im using 2gb sticks with awesome results..
until BullDozer..if you intend to upgrade.

Great Luck.. WELCOME..start reading,
and meeting the others. enjoy.c.

Well the reason why i wanted the motherboard that i have there is due to the fact that it has 6×240pin memory slots not just 4 and the memory that is supported is 48Gb. and i wanted a system with 24gigs of ram uinless that isn't recommended.

Well then you need an Intel cpu..
and disregard the ram advice..

Thats a Socket 1366 - This is the NewEgg list
for those .. since that was the vendor 1366NewEgg

If you NEED that kind of RAM power...for Gaming?
Read the 'gamers' rigs in the signatures of
the members, what are they using??? Thats
a great place to start...
There is alot of options in that $225 range Intel..
Rampage III Gene [1366]..has 6 lanes.
Maximus IV Gene-Z LGA [1155]
..even more options for a little more...
For my money..I still say C5F ..and the T1100..
with some 2gb sticks..and hold on until BullDozer..

The short of it..is..read what the ROG gamers
are gaming with...and read..and thats where to start.

Nothing against that board..but it just dont ROG for me..and no black and red hahhaa.c.

8 Gigs of ram is overkill for gaming. 24 Gigs is for like heavy rendering. Are looking for just gaming? Or are there more applications that you haven't mentioned?

If you want a gaming rig on a budget go with an i2600k and a z68 motherboard with 8gbs of ram, if you want to stick with the AMD Radeon 6950 try to get Saphires Toxic version for the same price but better performance, Id also recommend you get a quality power supply Corsairs my personal favorite. No need for an x58 machine unless you plan on getting the i7 970 or above

alright so 24gigs of ram is way to much so i wont go that high but i still want a really fast computer for gaming/recording gaming and well the works. and seeing as its my first project i want something i can be really proud of. So i want to go above 8gigs of ram but below 24gigs so how bout 16. I am updating my "shopping cart" on new egg as in i started new i would appreciate it if someone could find me a very good motherboard with 4 240pin memory slots. Being as this is my first time making a computer i don't exactly know what it is i am looking for i am taking your advice guys and i really appreciate it.
As for a budget i am not on to big of one i Just want this computer to be amazing
right now on my shopping cart i have:
2 (2*4gb) 240pin rams Please tell me if there are better ones than these.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428
and a corsair 850watt powersupply

For gaming, 8 Gigs is more than enough. For recording gaming, having a second HDD to record to is far more important than extra RAM. Now if you plan on editing and rendering your game footage in a high quality HD format, then you might want to think about more memory. I crash on 8GB if I try to render 1080p60 uncompressed (Though I am not sure why anyone really needs to do this outside of industry...).

To keep it in the family here's what I would put together, the GTX 560 will handle most games you'll be playing at ~1920x1080 and if that's not enough horsepower you can SLI it or up your budget to 2000 and just get an Asus Matrix GTX 580 P. The SSD is for your OS and any games your playing currently if you use Steam then install Steam to the 3TB and move whatever game your playing to the SSD with steam mover. 16GBs is overkill for a gaming system but RAM is dirt cheap right now. You still need a case, monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Good Luck to you.
