I have good feedback from work on oDesk https://www.odesk.com/users/~017ac7bc7b5fe7832a

and I am currently undertaking a Computing degree at university

It's great to see someone with such an early start in programming and Linux experience. Having an A-level in Computer Science and pursuing a university degree in Computing shows dedication to the field. The positive feedback on oDesk is a good indicator of competence, especially at such a young age. Starting to program at 10 years old demonstrates passion and an early mastery of skills that will only continue to develop with time.

Hmm I have been kicking the idea of a new RPG around. But that might be a bit too lofty for you. Not sure of just how into programming you are.

Personally, I would love to see a more intuitive temperature based fan speed control program. It seems to me that ALL of the fan control programs available either do the job more-or-less the way we want it, or they include more options than any enthusiast-level user would ever need.

I would like to be able to control any fan - attached to the motherboard headers, and by both PWM and voltage (whichever is necessary) - based on specific temperature readings which I would like to be able to mandate. IE: if I want a case fan speed to increase with CPU temp, fine. Or, if I want case fans to turn off when the water temperature in my loop (read from the motherboard probe headers) drops below a temperature that I set, then that's just a mouse click away.

Essentially, what I would like is ABSOLUTE control over ALL motherboard fan headers, as well as the ability to regulate speed and/or voltage based on ANY motherboard temperature sensor.

I think a program that straightforward would be pretty righteous.

A program to get me free ROG stuff from ASUS would be nice. 😄

Actually, @Dr. Z's suggestion is a good one, a fan utility that allows custom ramp rates would be really cool, you could give the user nearly arbitrary control and precision via spline curves to allow for really interesting effects. 🙂 Cheers, and welcome again to ROG! 🙂
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

We now have 178 people whose systems will not break! Yippee! 🙂
LINUX Users, we have a group!
