BIOS update went wrong!

Day before yesterday, my EZ update informed me of a bios update to my Hero VII board. I let it run the update, and then it rebooted, and Windows would not start at first. I opened the BIOS screen, did nothing but save and exit, and now Windows will start, but not without first going to a screen asking me which OS I want to boot, and it lists my Windows 7 Home Premium twice. I don't have it installed twice. How do I fix this?

Thanks,
Mike

Ok, I see part of the problem now. When I first built this computer with this new board, there was a system reserve partition created about 1 gig in size. When I did the bios update, another one was created. Each of these have their own drive letter. So now my question becomes, should I delete one of these partitions, and if so, which one? The original or the new one?

Ok, as described above, the BIOS update created a second reserved drive, and left the old one in place, so I now have two reserved partitions. I'm assuming this is the boot drive the BIOS creates. Here is my problem. When I start my computer, I get a screen asking me which OS to start. From this boot screen, I have two options, both of which say Windows 7 Home Premium (Reserved). I have tried using both of these, but only one of them works. There are no unique identifiers on this screen, so I don't know which of these two options is tied to which reserved drive partition. So, I don't know which of the reserve partitions to remove. This leaves me with no option other than to continue starting my computer by manually telling the BIOS which one to use.
If this is not the right place to post about this problem, please, someone direct me to the correct forum and I'll post it there.

Hi Twelvepak 🙂

Not come upon this problem before but I would say that updating BIOS from within OS can present problems.

I would recommend you download fresh BIOS file from support page for your board and reflash BIOS flashback method.

If you still have boot option problems just go to Boot ran in BIOS and remove the option/s that don't work...
