ASUS RMA is disappointing =(

Sent in my laptop for repair, my fan was really loud for no reason, checked online and apparently it was a common malfunction.

So I requested my RMA, process was ok, they picked it up the next day and shipped it off.
It came back today, opened the box, took out my laptop, there were some weird white powder/dust (?) on and around my keyboard and the keyboard wasn't installed right ( sure, it only takes a few pushes to get it in, but it shows how little effort they put to show they actually cared.)

That's fine, clean my laptop, wipe off the weird things, get the keyboard set...start up my laptop...
And a min or two later....my fan starts roaring again.
The picking up/shipping procedures and times were flawless and the "repair" time was acceptable, if only they fixed it...And I was quite sure on the RMA check page there was a column named "testing", guess they skipped the process...

So I started up another live chat, tbh I really wanted to rage at the person, it is VERY frustrating to not have a laptop/working computer for a few weeks, and now I'll have to send it out again for another few weeks...Sure the guy kept on assuring me that they'll get it fixed this time and he'll expedite it and whatnot, but it was just a really frustrating experience.

I'm a Taiwanese and I really want to support a company from my country, but I'm really having second thoughts now. My laptop malfunctioned for no reason, the power chord I had to replace, even the backpack that the laptop came with is broken (The straps came off after only using for a few times) The only thing that never broke was the mouse that it came with. And now I'm forced to part with my laptop for a long time because they didn't repair it when I sent it in=/

I know people have been complaining about slow repair times, but has anyone run into the same problem I did? Or was I just really unlucky =/

Sleepyzz .. Welcome to ROG.

Sorry to hear this kind of thing happening even in Taiwan.
I was going to ask where you were and if you took pics and
if it was possible to scan/post the 'RMA Check Page' [was it signed/initialed?]
but since you are 'over there' I'm not sure if PM'ing [Private Messege-above under Notifications]
cl-Albert to see what he could do to get 'eyes' on this could help. It's worth a shot.

Sad to say, the only thing left to do seems to be pack it up and ship it off again keeping
your fingers crossed. At least they are receptive and co-operating with you.

Faulty parts could happen and sometimes does as in your case. That's what RMA is for.
But there really is no excuse once sent to not be corrected.
And No. I personally have never heard of the 'back pack' coming apart like that.

You do not say which G Laptop you own .. but considering how many G's are out there
in the hands of very happy they bought them ROG'r's .. I think you just got unlucky on a
fan and a bad RMA. The G's are awesome.imho

Thank you for your patience here. Best of Luck to you. Please keep us 'posted' as to
your progress.c.

Oh no, I'm in Canada. Had it shipped from Vancouver to the Ontario repair center.
Mine was the G53SX, I've actually had the problem for more than half a year.
The RMA check page I was referring to was actually the online RMA status inquiry.
It's just a annoyingly noisy fan, had to live with it because I needed the laptop for school and work.
Thought I'd ship it off since summer just started, but I guess I won't be gaming for a few more weeks =(
