There were actually several governments that moved against Kasperksy, not just the American. This has more discussion: https://slate.com/technology/2017/10/russia-used-kaspersky-software-to-spy-on-the-u-s-that-s-why-we-...

Stop your American-Zionist propaganda.

If you were a clever minimum, you would understand that you are being manipulated by a Russophobia/Sinophobia exacerbated by American and more generally Western media.

i believe in aliens. that works?

I do not believe on the company also. but they nail some other issues of security in the past. At least to hear that they have to say.

At least take these on a serous manner. Beside. Asus WAS not the only company that gets these. but i wish to know the others also

I check with their website tool and i a ok. I use the asus tool, and my rig is not a asus machine. I read that also mine is not a laptop. At least a update is needed to patch the hole even that is not needed. Just as a precaution.

For propaganda..... i live on a 3th world country, i read those notes, even on the soup (as we say here) Peace guys. let check our gear and patch should be deploy soon. even if is not needed. Just for safe purposes. Is Tuesday today is is the division 2 day to play on my free day with coffee.

I agree Kasperksy discovered a number of legitimate and serious issues, including the Asus malware infection. That doesn’t mean I would trust its independence from the authoritarian government in charge, or that it hasn’t already engaged in or been used for spying. Same worries with Huawei. The Americans are beside the point—it’s a question of what kind of governments run Russia and China, and how they treat political dissidents. It’s reasonable to be skeptical of all authority, but it’s especially foolish to be trusting of such nations. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/britains-spy-agency-delivers-a-scathing-asses...

Looks like there is an official response from Asus:

I got infected. Well I didn't get infected thanks to Bitdefender. I opened Armory Crate, Saw the HAL update for my Z790 Dark Hero, and hit the button. The update failed. Tried it twice more then all of a sudden in the bottom right corner I got Bitdefender notifications I had infections, and it was doing its thing. And it did. I hope. Windows Defender missed it, and my second opinion I keep running (which is usually HIGHLY sensitive) HitmanPro.Alert missed it also, unless Bitdefender just got to it first.

Great job ASUS. Thanks.
