AI Optimized CPU Core Ratio setting in UEFI

Hello, Im using Windows 10 home 64 bit. i7 9700k, Asus Hero XI Wifi, 32GB 3000MHZ RAM, Asus Strix 1080 ti. 360 AIO cooler (Fractal Design C36)

I've been using the AI Optimized setting for a couple days now and up till today I had a great experience with it. I was getting clock speeds of 5200mhz on at cores when rendering videos. But today windows asked me to restart cause of something and it resulted in a bluescreen. Like a hard bluescreen. Like the pc didnt even run the whole bluescreen. It just said, Your PC ran. thats it. no error code. I tried to restart a couple times but nothing. Just more incomplete bluescreens. I then went into the UEFI and found that it was trying to run the cpu at 5500 mhz! Just a ridiculous number like why would the motherboard even try this? let alone with no warning. Like hey Asus, wanna buy me a new cpu? Your melting mine. I put a manual core ratio of 50 and am now able to reaccess my desktop. But i dont know if its going to be stable anymore. Will update with finding.

Be wary with AI Optimized setting under the CPU Core Ratio tab. It changed very aggressively on me without warning.

Cinebench is throtteling halfway through with a cpu core ratio set at 50 now. Sad day. Was running at stable 52 prior to trying this AI optimization stuff.

Edit; I've seem to re-established a 5.2 ghz overclock. Cinebench completes without throtteling now and scores between 1602 -1608. Will continue to game on it and see how stable it is. Shouldn't automatically change to 5.5ghz without my knowledge again now!

CPU-z and HW monitor report Vcore voltages much higher then I've set in the UEFI (see screen shots) I've tried to lower them but when i change limits in the adaptive voltage I fine there is either no or adverse effect via CPU-Z monitoring. During cinebench Vcore is between 1.36-1.385. But when just sitting at desktop it gets as high as 1.510. and as low as 0.6. Not sure why it jumps to 1.51 when the pc starts up/at random. CPU hit 80C during Cinebench.

As a general rule I don’t trust any means of automated overclocking. I’ve tried things like AI suite in the past and it’s optomization came up with a lesser result while simultaneously jacking Vcore well past my comfort level.*
