I can't believe I didnt get any replies. Anywho FYI I ordered the one with up to 5 dead pixels. They wrote to me saying
This is Kinam in Korea.
Good morning?
Here is now on Tuesday morning in Korea.

Thanks for your purchase.
Well, How about QH270-IPSBS model upgrade?
QH270-lite model is now in short because of summer vacation

so shipment date will be on next Thursday or later

However, if you agree with QH270-IPSBS model.
I can send the monitor today right now.
No additional cost to upgrade.

QH270-IPSBS model = Lite model + built in speaker.

Actually, IPSBS model is higher version than lite model.

Let me know your opinion.
You can change QH270-IPSBS model for free
or you can wait till next Friday.

Best Regard from Korea
Kinam

So I asked them to upgrade to the QH270-IPSBS with perfect pixels which was $399 instead of $319 and they said OK for an extra $40. It's shipping out today and I cant wait to get it.

I only respond to certain sections in the forum, and monitors are not one of the things I normally reply about. Guess folks do not know to much about monitors. 🙂
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Never heard of the brand before.

Here's a review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5885/the-achieva-shimian-qh270-a-350-27inch-wqhd-sips-display

Personally, I wouldn't touch them.

Poor build quality, poor warranty support and limited features

Agree with Shawn. I fond a topic about it on OCN. Seems like if the screen is damaged you still won't get anything back. If you google the name of the screen the topic will appear.

Wow, they really like you to know they are in Korea.

Rich, in Taipei. Now is mid-day. I'm going to lunch.

Well I got the monitor and I have to say it is amazing. The one down side is I only got 60hz. I heard people getting a lot of 90 and 120hz but either way I am still very happy with the price. I had a samsung before with 120hz and faster response time but I am still much happier with this monitor. Everything seems so much more colorful and better.

It's one of a couple dozen off brands that use the same common 2560x1440 LG panel. The only real difference between them all are warranty, case quality and input pcb with different port types. There are a ton of these panels on the market.

These panels are rejects from the manufacturer (LG). If the panel does not past the quality check, they get tossed and these Korean companies buy them and resell them (why you cannot return them if they have >5 dead pixels).

I've had my Achieva Shimian since my 2012. Didn't receive a dead pixel, but there is a little black light bleeding. The back light bleed is really only visible on a black screen, and a little viewing this forum. I can't be too picky since I paid $314 including shipping. I recommend these types of panels because you get it at a fraction of the price, resolution is great, and the colors are pretty accurate.
