Z690 Formula - Constant loss of ethernet on load.

Strange issue here that I don't even know how to troubleshoot. Whenever the ethernet gets loaded past 20 mb/s, theres a high probability that it will disconnect from the internet. I didn't think it was the motherboard at first, but now it seems like it's the only culprit.

Steps tried:
- Variety of different ethernet cables
- Replaced router with asus ax88u
- Tried marvell 3.1.3 and 3.1.6 drivers

After the ethernet adapter says it's not connected to the internet, the only thing that seems to work is funnily enough the built in MS tool that resets the ethernet adapter, after that the connection is back to normal, until the adapter is loaded again.

Hi axiumone and Unstable_overclock,
Thank you for your reply.
Do you install rog gamfirst VI?
Do you have the issue when use Windows Explorer to transfer files through internet? or only have the issue when use steam downloading games or discord call?
If there is no issue when only use Windows Explorer to transfer files through internet, could you please also play a youtube video meanwhile to see if the issue occurs?
Thank you so much.

I too just bought this board was trying to I stall destiny and would continue to crash everytime. Hopefully there's a fix soon or I am gonna have to return the board

No I don't install Rog Gamfirst VI
No i don't have any issues uploading files using windows explorer.
I have the issue when downloading games and watching youtube sometimes, or doing a download with discord (in call) and youtube running or one or both of the other activities while downloading.
Like I said earlier me testing this for you will not solve any of the issues, your tech team needs to replicate this test in order to determine the fault. I can get the issue to occur if I want to but it happens when I least expect it through normal use. It will work fine doing the above 8 out of 10 times and then when I least expect it, it happens and it happens in the manner as described by the other users. It is frequent but unpredictable in nature. System can run fine for 8 hours and then it can without warning happen.
Right now I redownloaded GTA 5 and watched youtube there was no issue. Its not a guarantee to happen every single time but there is a likelihood that it can happen.

Same here, I did not install Rog Gamfirst VI.

I don't transfer files to other machines on the network, as I don't have any other machines.

Hi Ohnslaught,
Do you also connect to 10Gb ethernet port on the motherboard but it would disconnect every time you download destiny game in steam?
Did you watch youtube video or do other internet operation meanwhile when the issue occurred?
May I have the model name and the bios version of your motherboard and the ethernet driver version?
Is the bios setting all default?
Could you please refer to #30 and #34 in the thread, and share me the information?
Thank you.

Hi all,
When the ethernet shows 0, is the connection back to normal after few seconds or it will show 0 constantly?
When the issue occurs, if you open the browser, does it show internet access or no internet connection?
When the issue occurs, if you pin google in cmd, does it show internet connection or lost?
If you replug the ethernet cable in, is the connection back to normal?
Thank you.

Hi so when the internet shows 0 it stays that way until I use the windows built in network trouble shoot or unplug and replug the ethernet cable.
If I do the trouble shoot method the internet returns but my speeds are reduced by half according to internet speed test for at least a bit.
If I unplug and replug the ethernet I get a stutter till the ethernet comes back and last time I checked there was an error in event viewer or a warning, can't remember which.
If I open the browser it treats it as if you have no internet. You are connected but there is no internet.
The connection is back to normal once I plug and replug the ethernet but it takes a little while for the device to connect to the internet meanwhile I experience a stuttering system as it happens.

Essentially when the issue occurs for me its akin to thermal throttling to a cpu or gpu (best way I can describe it) the speeds start coming down incrementally until finally it goes from 90mb, 88mb, 72mb...........16mb, 13mb,4mb, 200kb, 12kb, No internet (at least on steam when a download is going and this happens). As the speeds are coming down incrementally when the issue occurs, if I am in a call I still get disconnected before the download speeds on steam hit 0.

hope this helps.

Hi Unstable_overclock, axiumone and eraserking,
If the internet shows 0 until you use the windows built in network trouble shoot or unplug and replug the ethernet cable, may I know how long you have been waiting?
For example, waited about "1 minute" but the connection wasn't back to normal, so you use the windows built in network trouble shoot or unplug and replug the ethernet cable.
Also, you have mentioned there is no network related error or warning in event log, but our tech would like to know more about the issue.
No matter what it shows in event log when the internet shows 0, could you please help to share screenshots of event log?
Thank you so much.
