Z690 Formula - Constant loss of ethernet on load.

Strange issue here that I don't even know how to troubleshoot. Whenever the ethernet gets loaded past 20 mb/s, theres a high probability that it will disconnect from the internet. I didn't think it was the motherboard at first, but now it seems like it's the only culprit.

Steps tried:
- Variety of different ethernet cables
- Replaced router with asus ax88u
- Tried marvell 3.1.3 and 3.1.6 drivers

After the ethernet adapter says it's not connected to the internet, the only thing that seems to work is funnily enough the built in MS tool that resets the ethernet adapter, after that the connection is back to normal, until the adapter is loaded again.

STARRAIN@ROG - It sounds like there are users here and in the following thread indicating that running driver version 3.0.19.0 has resolved the issue for them. I have also since uninstalled the existing 3.1.6.0 driver and installed version V3.0.19.0 and not encountered this issue yet. Is there any chance ASUS tech team can look into this & connect with Marvell about a possible driver/compatibility issue?

Rollback to 3.0.19 won't solve the issue. May be reduce some problems like hitching but not complete connection loss. You can reproduce it by downloading large amount of data at full connection speed of your internet channel. Large torrent file for example, like 100-150 GB.
The only way so far to eliminate of connection loss I know is to open LAN adapter properties in device manager and disable "Recv Segment Coalescing (IPv4) and (IPv6 if needed)".
It seems like this is a common workaround for these "Marvellous" adapters.
In my case I have 500Mbit connection,
If I download torrent then at some point Marvell adapter will lost connection (Z590 Aorus Master with AQC107).
If I'll do the same using other motherboard with Intel adapter - not gonna happen (Z590 Apex 13 with 2.5Gb Intel).
So this is not ISP stability. That's just another misleading to get rid of you. ASUS\Marvell support receiving dozens of these complaints and never heard of them and have no idea how to reproduce it? Yeah, sure.

Example (image is for reference):

It has been a few months and I wanted to drop in and see if the matter was resolved. After going through a couple of formula boards myself, I decided to return the final one I had and try another brand. I bought one of the flagship MSI motherboards, the model just one under the GODLIKE series for the z690 chipset. The MSI ACE Z690.

The MSI motherboard I replaced my formula with has two intel lan ports on the back of it. And after owning the MSI board since April 2022 till now (September 2022) I have not once experienced the random drop in internet as I did with the formula board. The issue seems likely to be with the marvel lan port and unfortunately this was the only sure fix solution for me.

I'm noticing this on my new Z690 Formula board too. When it happens, I do see an eventID #14 warning in Event Viewer (WEV). I've attached it. I see no pattern in WEV of the lost link warnings or any events leading up to any of them. I'll try installing the v3.0.19.0 drivers to see if that helps.

Trying this. Did this work for anyone else?

I had the same issue on Gigabyte board with 10Gbit Marvell. Try to open it's (LAN adapter) properties in device manager and disable "Recv Segment Coalescing (IPv4) and (IPv6 if needed)". This workaround helped me to stop LAN connection loss while downloading large amount of data.

this seems to be fixing the issue thank you

Hi eraserking,
Our tech team was not able to reproduce the issue and after consulted Marvell, the issue may also cause by ISP stability.
If there is no issue with V3.0.19.0, please use it instead.
Thank you.

This issue was never fixed. I've had asus rma my board and it still an issue. This is has been an issue since launch. It's been nearly a year now. This is pathetic asus. Same as all of your other efforts. Get as much money as possible upfront, and never support your customers afterwards.

This is an $800 USD motherboard. You should be ashamed. Why have none of your engineers been able to replicate this issue in the lab? That's because hardly any of them can afford this board and live with using it for a few months. Had anyone actually used it for a few months, the issue would have been apparent. Want to replicate it? Look at the first ****ing post. Load up torrents. Leave them running in the background. Play a couple of videos on youtube. The hardwired network adapter crashes after a while.

I'm literally at the end of my rope with this company. I've spent tens of thousands of usd on asus gear. The support is piss poor. You want to charge premium prices for your equipment? Then, provide premium support to your customers!

Hi axiumone,
Could you please also try Marvell Ethernet connection Driver V3.0.19.0 and disable "Recv Segment Coalescing (IPv4) and (IPv6 if needed)" in LAN adapter properties to see if it works?
Thank you.
