Z590-E: ASUS RTX4090 stuck in PCIE 3.0 mode

Hello,

I installed my just arrived TUF-4090-GAMING-O24 *in my Rog Strix Z590-E PCIE4_1 slot and the card is stuck in PCIE 3.0 x16 mode.
I have i9-11900K with a Samsung 980 Pro installed in M2_1 slot. Drive reports running at PCIE 4.0 x4 mode.
No other PCIE cards installed. Only two NVME drives at M2_3 and M2_4.
Latest BIOS (1402) on board and latest drivers everywhere. Tested with GPU-Z, AIDA64 and HWinfo64. All report the same.

I have already performed a BIOS reset and loaded optimized defaults in BIOS. No change.

Resizable bar is on and reported as active.

OS is Windows 11 22H2, latest patches.

Otherwise the card seem to work fine.

Any idea anyone?

Couple day ago I bought new ASUS TUF 4090 OC graphic card. Today I checked GPU-z (Version 2.50.0) and I saw my GPU working on PCI 3.0 not 4.0. I tried to update BIOS and nothnig changed (Motherboard ASUS TUF Z590 Plus Wi-Fi. Bios version is 1601 CPU: 11700K).

Also Z590 Plus Wifi doesn't have 1450/1650 versions.

Adding a data point here, i have the same issue.
Asus z590-f motherboard with latest bios 1402, 11700k and a gigabyte 4090 gaming oc.
PCIE is stuck at gen3 x16 and reaches only 12.5G in 3dmark pcie bench.
Same system with same settings worked fine at gen 4 x16 with the 3080 fe i had in it before.

Asus support is blaming my gpu and claiming they don't have issues with the z590 chipset.
Rozak, it would be nice with more info about this support response about upcoming bios fix. So we can counter the bs responses.

Same hadware (except for GPU, mine is MSI 4090), same prolem. Hope they release BIOS also for TUF Z590 Plus, since 1601 version has the problem reported here and elsewhere

Could you post at least a BETA version of the 1450/1650 BIOS for the z590 Hero XIII motherboard?

Running the latest BIOS (1601) on my TUF Gaming Z590-PLUS WIFI and the problem is not fixed

1601 - old bios. I think you need 1650 instead of 1601 as I need 1450 instead of 1402 for my XIII Apex.

I'm having the same problem! ASUS if its your fault fix it ASAP.
