Strix 3080 0dB not working

My Strix 3080 seems not possible to turn the fan off. Tried performance and quite mode and temperature was around 35 but the fans still spinning. I even manually turn off the fan using msi afterburner and gpu tweak but the fans still spinning at 53%. Just checking if anyone with the tuf or strix 30 series having the same issue.

Had no issue when i was using my Strix 2080

Hi,

a quick update about ""GPU Tweak II version 2.3.7.1", its starting with 0 fan rpms, by pc startup, but as soon as its getting hot and the fans starting working, they aren't stopping anymore, rmps are working as it should but nonstop.

Later today I will test the next older version of the software.

Nate152, thanks man.

So guys, bad news,

I have tested the 3 other versions available at the GPU Tweak II download page from ASUS and the behavior was exactly the same as I have described by testing the version "2.3.7.1".
Actually I have tested all available version for GPU Tweak II "2.3.4.0 to 2.3.8.0" all together are 5 for me and for my GPU which is this one "ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3060 Ti V2 OC Edition 8GB GDDR6 with LHR" as I already have mentioned, there are some older versions there if someone want to check it out, the link is here.

I am thinking that the problem could be from NVIDIA Drivers or from NVIDIA Control Panel 3D Settings, probably some setting at the 2nd one, maybe the Power Management Mode setting but this has to be tested.

Hi again,

so what's effecting the function of "0db Fan" feature is the setting at NVIDIA Control Panel, Task, Manage 3D Settings, Global Settings and specific the "Power Management Mode" when its changed to "Prefer Maximum Performance" the "0db Fan" setting is no longer working.

Please do check it for yourself for further confirmation.

I have done the tests and found out what's going on with the latest '2.3.8.0" GPU Tweak II version but I assume the same applies for the other versions of the software also!

Also I think it might be useful to test this setting by changing it to "Program Settings" to "Prefer Maximum Performance" which I have done and I cannot think why anyone shouldn't doing it, we need "maximum Performance" when we run a game for example, right!
