ROG Strix z690A Gaming WiFi WHEa 17 Errors

Grendel602

Swapped my fully functioning 3090RTX, 9900K, Z390 Gigabyte Designare setup for a brand new Z690 and 12900K rig.

After swapping all components over to the Gaming Wifi MOBO and 12900k combo, install WIN 11 and I get thousands of WHEA errors for ven_8086&dev_ 460d&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_02

I also get random hangup, BSODS, and straight crashes.

I'm a day of frustration away from RMA. I swapped back to old system and all works perfectly with 9900k and Z390 mobo, so the only possible hardware issue is the mobo or CPU....I guessing this is a mobo hardware component issue.

PCI ID Repository suggests it is a 12th Gen Core Processor PCI Express x16 Controller #1.

Device manager showed no issues with any hardware.

Hello STARRAIN@ROG, but how to solve the problem of declining graphics card performance and increasing SSD temperature after turning off this option?

STARRAIN_ROG

Hi dnaeva,
If you only disable PCI Express Native Power Management with bios default setting, the graphics card performance is declining and SSD temperature is increasing a lot?
How do you check the graphics card performance and the SSD temperature?
May I have the scenario information before and after you disable PCI Express Native Power Management in bios?
Have you tried bios 1403?
Thank you.

Hi STARRAIN@ROG,
Graphics card performance decreases by about 10% and SSD temperature increases by 2 to 4 degrees.
scenario information? What exactly does that mean?

1403 doesn't mention a fix for this issue, so I haven't updated it.

There was also a problem with Windows 11 not going into sleep mode properly when PCI Express Native Power Management was turned off.

Hi dnaeva,
If you have any issues, please try with the latest bios version.
Do you check the graphics card performance and the SSD temperature in idle or when running the specific apps?
If it only occurs when running the specific apps, how long do you run the apps and see the difference?
Which apps and how do you check the graphics card performance and the SSD temperature?
Do you only disable PCI Express Native Power Management with bios default setting?
How do you check the pc is not going into sleep mode properly?
Thank you.

Hi STARRAIN@ROG,
I have upgraded to the latest BIOS version 1403, wait about 15 minutes without doing anything after the PC starts up.

> How do you check the pc is not going into sleep mode properly?
Yes.

> How do you check the pc is not going into sleep mode properly?
Check whether the Windows loading logo is displayed when the PC is woken up after being hibernated for a period of time.

Hi dnaeva,
Do you mean you can see the windows loading logo after wake the pc up from sleep mode in bios 1403 with bios default settings and PCI Express Native Power Management disabled?
Do you also see the windows loading logo if you click on sleep in windows?
Thank you.

Hi dnaeva,
Does it boot into windows after show windows loading logo without login screen with bios default settings?
Do you select require sign-in option to "never" or "when pc wakes up from sleep"?
Thank you.
