ROG Strix z690A Gaming WiFi WHEa 17 Errors

Swapped my fully functioning 3090RTX, 9900K, Z390 Gigabyte Designare setup for a brand new Z690 and 12900K rig.

After swapping all components over to the Gaming Wifi MOBO and 12900k combo, install WIN 11 and I get thousands of WHEA errors for ven_8086&dev_ 460d&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_02

I also get random hangup, BSODS, and straight crashes.

I'm a day of frustration away from RMA. I swapped back to old system and all works perfectly with 9900k and Z390 mobo, so the only possible hardware issue is the mobo or CPU....I guessing this is a mobo hardware component issue.

PCI ID Repository suggests it is a 12th Gen Core Processor PCI Express x16 Controller #1.

Device manager showed no issues with any hardware.

The sound dropouts and whea 1 errors occur on 1304 with all default settings except for the PCI power saving options all set to disabled. I've tried updating the sound drivers and firmware to no avail. As an experiment, I went to the standard windows sound drivers, and so far there haven't been any sound issues. I'm currently running the PCI slots in Gen 3 mode to avoid the whea 1 errors.

The answer was clear to me and I already suggested the workaround here before ASUS communicated it as an official workaround.
Nevertheless, it remains only a workaround and in my view not a real solution. Switching off the energy saving measures consumes only a few watts more, but the higher temperatures of the PCH chip are real. We are talking about 10-20 degrees Celsius, especially for water-cooled PCs without airflow from the graphics card.
There must be a hardware problem somewhere so that it is necessary to switch off the energy-saving measures at all. That is exactly what is being kept secret here. That is not OK.

Rather than all ASPM settings, if you only disable PCI Express Native Power Management with bios default setting, do you also get the higher temperatures 10-20 degrees Celsius of the PCH chip in idle?
If yes, is the bios version 1304?
How do you check the chipset temperature? May I have the room temperature and the PCH chip temperature information before and after you disable PCI Express Native Power Management in bios?
May I have the brand and the model name of your water cooler, fans and pc case?

It seems you have whea 1 error without any issues or freezing without any error on bios 1304 with disabled all the PCI power saving options.
For brief random sound dropouts, if you uninstall Realtek USB audio drivers, there is no sound dropouts?
Could you please reset bios to all default settings on bios 1304 and install Realtek USB Audio Driver V6.3.9600.2307 from our support site to see if whea 1 error, freezing or the brief random sound dropouts occur again?
If yes, does whea 1 error and freezing also occur when you only browsing the chrome or at the desktop and there is no apps running? How often does it occur? about browsing the chrome over 20 minutes?

I disabled PCI Express Native Power Management and the SSD WHEA errors are gone. But I don't think this can be considered a permanent solution. A workaround at best.

Seems like some people are having problems with the SSDs because of the flaky connectors. I also had some trouble assembling the stack on the ITX board. It's just a mess with a lot of screws and really really thin connectors. I wonder if my problem is also due to bad installation of the drive? But I should note that I don't have crashes and my drives work fine even with the WHEA errors, albeit with an obvious slowdown. Also, if it was a bad installation, would disabling PCI Express Native Power Management fix it?

The freezes primarily occur when using Chrome, although a couple of times it happened at the desktop too. I'll try to get a capture of the sound drops/stutters as well. Those happen when listening to MP3's mostly. Memory pic attached as requested.

For WHEA 17 error, our tech team have reported it to Intel but haven't got the reply from Intel.
If you have the performance issue with SSD in M.2_2 and the issue is still there after disabled PCI Express Native Power Management, could you please help to create a new thread for further discussion?

Hello i'm new here.
just bought a i7 12700K with Asus Z690 Hero and have random crash when gaming. Having the WHEA-Logger ID 17 error too on windows 11.
Got an RTX 3080 Ti brand new.

This is kind of really boring, while i'm playing tarkov and The cycle frontier, every crash i lost everything. Starting to get me nervous.
I've read a little bit of this thread but what can i do to avoid crashing with my computer ? Change Motherboard for another brand ??? Sad ...

I've disable PCI express Native power management and don't get the error ID 17 anymore but now it still crash and get Error WHEA-Logger id 1.

COme on guys ... what is going on with your motherboard ???? At that range of price ....

How often do the games crash? For example, every time when you are playing tarkov or the cycle frontier about 1hr, it crash to desktop?
Have you reinstalled the games?
Do the games crash on bios 1304 with bios all default settings except PCI express Native power management disabled?
