Old Intel Microcode in new official 0807 Bios for STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4

Wolfsaccount

Asus is writing there is new microcode in the new official bios 0807 for STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4, but this is not truth!

In Bios 0807 is the same microcode as in the old 0707, in both versions is Version 0x12 - see picture! In Beta Bios 0803 it is the newer 0x15!

What it is going on?

Hello,

I've moved the thread for the attention of the ROG Care team.
9800X3D / 6400 CAS32 / ROG X870 Crosshair / TUF RTX 4090

For testing now i have flashed the 0807 Bios, here it is another proof that it is no new microcode in Biosverson 0807 - it is Version 0x12 like in 0707

Hi Wolfsaccount,
May I have the following information?
- the serial number of the motherboard and the graphics card via PM
- Are bios settings all default?
- the brand and the model name of the RAM, graphics card, hard drive with OS and PSU
(Please check the specific model name of the RAM such as G.SKILL F4-4266C19D-16GTZR)
- OS version and OS build
Thank you.

Sorry, but you don't need all this informations, you must simply implement the new microcode, for example like in Beta-Bios 0803, this is fault by the Asus bios team!

Hi Wolfsaccount,
I'm afraid after consulted our tech team the microcode is not updated on bios 0807, and the release note on our site will be corrected.
Do you have any issues on bios 0807? Why do you want to update microcode 0x15?
May I know where did you download beta bios 0803?
Thank you.

Beta 0803 i did download here:
https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-asus-strix-maximus-z690-owners-thread.1794802/page-29#pos...

I think microcode 0x15 is perhaps the newest one. In the new Bios 0901 from today is also 0x12 microcode. All other vendors like MSI, Gigabyte, ASRock use 0x15, so i think there is security bugfixes and so on.

Thank you
