Got my new flow x16 a month back. I am having a weird problem with the laptop, not sure what is to blame here. I have absolutely no issues using the laptop when it is powered on and active. It is when I let the laptop enter sleep that it would sometimes crash. This is the only issue I have seen with the laptop.
I have tried a few things during this time to figure out what is causing this:
1. Tried reinstalling windows 3 times (stock install, reinstall through Asus WinRE, reinstall through latest windows image using recovery drive).
2. Installed drivers through Asus apps (armoury crate, MyAsus)
3. Installed graphics drivers through AMD and NVIDIA site.
None of what I tried has worked, my current install has all drivers from Asus and I installed everything with internet turned off so that windows cannot update anything before I can install the drivers. The crash occurrence is also totally random. Sometimes it will remain in sleep for hours (plugged in) and sometimes it will crash minutes after going into sleep. Not sure if the modern sleep S0 is to blame here and this laptop doesn't have S3 sleep support too.
I was trying to debug the issue with the help of event viewer. But event viewer records the crash with a bugcheckcode as 0 which basically means windows was not even able to record why the PC crashed. Also it doesn't record a dump file which makes it impossible to debug. I also saw a thread related to some other warnings observed by others in event viewer here:
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?131290-Brand-new-ROG-Flow-X16-1000-s-of-WHEA-event-17-erro...Not sure if these issues are connected but mine also has these warnings in high numbers. I have read online from many others suggesting to use hibernate instead of sleep but I require my laptop turn on instantly and I work/use my laptop in every short interval.
Does anyone else have these issues on their units?
If yes, do you have any solution to these issues?
Thanks for your time:)
