G703GI: Low sound from right side only

Hi,
as the title says I have problems with the internal speakers on G703GI.

Testing with the Windows speaker test, the sound coming out of the right speakers is barely audible, while the right side is fine.

I've updated the drivers, checked all balance settings and activated/deactivated any audio improvements I could find.

Any suggestions?

My problem is just the same as yours. My tweeters work just fine, but the left bass speaker mess up regularly.
A reboot fixes this (well, sometimes I must reboot 3-4 times).
I don't have the other problems you mention, but I agree that such an expensive system should not have such annoying issues.
I've had 2 ASUS ROG laptops before this - they did not have the sound problem, but I had keyboard issues with those.
Don't think I'll ever buy an ASUS product again 😞

Totally agreeing with you. ASUS support does NOT help at all.
Last week I finally found a USB drive that the BIOS considered "good" (an old Kingston 4GB green translucent drive) and I could finally update the BIOS to 306. I thought this would finally solve that issue... Nope, still there.
That's a driver or firmware problem, why doesn't ASUS solve it? Why can't we get an response to this issue? It's like I mentioned: It was an expensive device and ASUS doesn't even bother to fix it.

I'm mildly infuriated.

I ended up returning it for repairs. When I got it back the problem was still there, so I got my money back and got a new one, different model.

My situation is unfortunately worse. I can't give it to repair, 'cause I bought it in the USA, but I don't live there. It's also my only daily driver, my only 2y old Acer suddenly died.

I hope there's an update of whatever kind to fix this.

Here's the Realtek audio driver I'm using:

Thanks.
I downloaded it, but it said that "No suitable driver in current package". If I try to manually install it via the device manager, it won't work also. 😕

This is the latest Realtek audio driver from ASUS:

https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/DriversForWin10/Audio/Audio_LEGACY_Realtek_Win10_64_V6088581_d...

If you have any issue (like Audio Wizard missing), try:

https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/GamingNB/DriverforWin10/Audio/Audio_Realtek_W10_64_V6018591.zip

Last suggestion, reinstall your original Realtek driver from your eSupport folder:

eSupport/Software/Driver/Legacy/Audio/Realtek/Audio(Nahimic MIC Effect)/6.0.1.8409/8573/Setup.exe
G752VSK, G75VW-3D, G51J, G1S

I already tried downloading the first driver you mentioned, but device manager tells me that "the best version of the drivers are already installed".

On the second one I receive the same message as the first one.

And the third suggestion isn't possible, because I haven't backuped that folder when I reinstalled W10.

Here's a link to a site that has your ASUS Driver DVD:

https://www.asustreiber.de/downloads/download/60-windows-10/806-g703gi-treiber-dvd

The smartest action would be to burn a copy of this Driver DVD. You could also mount the ISO file, copy the contents to a folder, rename the folder to "eSupport". This would create your eSupport folder.

For further info, look at my "Sticky" named "Make a copy of your eSupport Folder before formating your OS drive! "

I afraid if none of the drivers work, then you have a hardware issue and the laptop will need to be returned for repair, replacement, or refund.

Thanks, but I tried to install it and it aborted the installation of the driver midway with error -0001. I then tried to uninstall the Audio from the Device manager and then tried to install it via the setup... Error -0001.
Installing it via the inf files directly inside the Device manages just gives me: "The optimal driver for your system is already installed"

Hello kne_tucky & Fusseldieb,
May I have a video record of the issue?
Also, please kindly PM me your SN.
Thank you.
