Fed up with the ROG STRIX Z590-E GAMING WIFI audio problems and no communication.

Dear Asus

I'll get straight to it, the Z590 asus motherboard line up has consistant issues with it's audio drivers. There is a delay on waking up, there is a chance for random static to blast my ear drums and it's been 3 months since I reported it via a ticket. https://youtu.be/kiMFy8PxMqA?t=123 Like this video I just linked (which isn't made by me) the audio will randomly break when waking up killing my eardrums.

I've sent multiple emails to ASUS that were forwarded to HQ eventually acknowledging these problems and being promised new drivers on the 13th of July, it's now been two months and nothing so far and I'd say this is quite a big problem? When can I expect new drivers to resolve these issues?

Kind regards.

On some older hardware of mine I have seen similar issues, where microsoft installation driver works and manufacturers drivers have a problem. What it suggests to me, is that there is some kind of problem with the winsxs component store or the chipset drivers or the performance counters. But I am guessing and wouldn't suggest to much tinkering without a full system backup first. Fixing it would involve manually changing chipset drivers in device manager and followed by component store cleanup and possibly need repair of performance counters. But this is kind of radical and time consuming. Best to just stay with what is working imho. There should be any easy fix, but I do not know what it would be.

Hi Zardoc,
I'm afraid our tech team have tested the motherboard and components at hand, but cannot reproduce the crackling sound as your audio file.
Here are the testing steps.
1. install win10
2. install the audio driver 6.3.9600.2307 and audio FW from our support site and restart the pc
3. plug in a headphone and adjust the sound volume in taskbar
Do you any other information and steps for reproducing the crackling sound issue?
Thank you.

Latest update Realtek update MAY cause a driver crash on startup from coldboot: RtkAudUService64.exe, when this occurs realtek audio control will no longer start up if attempted and any modifications made in it are not active.

Hi Nuckels,
Do you mean you cannot open realtek audio control, and any modifications made before are not active?
Do you see the message in event viewer every startup from coldboot? or how often does it occur?
May I have a video and the event ID?
Did it occur after Realtek USB Audio Driver V6.3.9600.2307 on bios 1202 with bios all default settings?
Have you reinstalled Realtek USB Audio Driver V6.3.9600.2307 but it still appears?
May I have the windows version and OS build such as 21H2 19044.1503?
Thank you.

FINALLY!! The latest 6.3.9600.2311 driver has no crackling sound on Win 11. I haven't tested 10 yet.

Thank you for finally making some of us happy!!! I wish though that the approach would be a lot less of hassle to explain.

This is true btw, you should probably update the drivers on the ASUS website with the updated drivers.
