Fed up with the ROG STRIX Z590-E GAMING WIFI audio problems and no communication.

Dear Asus

I'll get straight to it, the Z590 asus motherboard line up has consistant issues with it's audio drivers. There is a delay on waking up, there is a chance for random static to blast my ear drums and it's been 3 months since I reported it via a ticket. https://youtu.be/kiMFy8PxMqA?t=123 Like this video I just linked (which isn't made by me) the audio will randomly break when waking up killing my eardrums.

I've sent multiple emails to ASUS that were forwarded to HQ eventually acknowledging these problems and being promised new drivers on the 13th of July, it's now been two months and nothing so far and I'd say this is quite a big problem? When can I expect new drivers to resolve these issues?

Kind regards.

Hi Zardoc,
Do you mean the sound is not clear when adjust the volume?
Could you please create a new thread about this?
Thank you.

@starrain@rog, I have nothing against your very professional approach with users here. So, please, my response is not aimed at you in particular.

Nope, that's not what I said and I'm sorry I will not create a new post and waste all my time with video, screen recording and what have you. That's Asus's job, not mine unless you want to hire me, then I will do all the testing you want. I am not being an A...S just fed up with the time wasted on this problem.

Also, I didn't say that Asus boards are crap, they are good boards but the Realtek USB chip, for now, is a piece of junk and a pain in the ....... Maybe one day it will work fine.

This board has cost me a lot of my time and I'm not paid for the trouble, The description was simple. It's the same issue. Listen to the file. Just take your mouse and click on the sound icon. You will hear what I recorded.

it lasts half a second at most and won't always repeat if you keep clicking on the sound bar over and over, but if you click, wait click, wait you'll hear it every time. When sound is playing I haven't heard it repeat. But like I said, just click the sound setting. You'll hear the crackle.

So do what you want with it. This USB chip has been a fiasco from the get go. I will avoid buying anything that has that sound chip until I can compare the quality to a compatible ALC version.

Hi Zardoc,
May I double confirm you have updated ALC4080/ALC4082 audio FW update tool release fixed Line Out playing music is noisy?
Does it occur on Realtek USB Audio Driver V6.3.9600.2307 and bios 1202 with bios all default settings?
Have you tried other speaker or headphone?
Are all the specifications same as you pc specs on the forum?
Thank you.

Hi Zardoc,
Thank you for your reply.
Is the scratch gone when you uninstall Realtek USB Audio Driver or the stereo mix workaround?
May I have the serial number of the motherboard and the graphics card via PM?
Thank you.

Hi iisd,
Do you also use ROG STRIX Z590-E GAMING WIFI?
For the random loud white noise, please update Realtek USB Audio Driver V6.3.9600.2307 and ALC4080/ALC4082 audio FW update tool released on 2021/12/09.
For the delay and crackling issue you mentioned, does it occur on optical or analog output?
May I have videos about how you face the delay and crackling issue and reducing it with the Stereo Mix workaround?
Have you tried different speakers and headphones but still have crackling issue?
Does it occur on bios 1202 with bios all default settings?
Thank you.

I'm using microsoft USB 2.0 driver form beginning on my strix z590-f wifi mobo. Speakers works well and headphone too. Can you tell me what I lose with these driver? I'm not expert and do not chase super stuff from audio but want to know what you think about this driver.

Windows 10 Lot LTSC Realtek USB2.0 Audio 10.0.19041.1 (6.12.2019)

Motherboard is new and without installed audio FW fix.

Jane Doe,

I have the Asus Maximus Hero XIII Z590 Motherboard, and I have have the same issue with the sound. I've update the firmware and drivers and get the same noise or pop at boot up. I have also mention in other audio driver forums. That the Microsoft driver USB 2.0 don't seem to have the issues. But as soon as you use the ASUS drivers, the problem is back, and the driver's name is Realtek USB Audio & not Realtek USB2.0 Audio. I don't know if that makes a difference?

Hopefully someone can help us with this.... Just wanted to say your not alone with this....
