Can't get DDR4 3600 memory to work any higher than 2133 on B450F Gaming II MB

As the tittle says, for some reason my PC hangs and doesn't boot if I set the memory to 3600. I have to clear the CMOS to get it to boot again. I have an ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming II motherboard and I am using 4 sticks of CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz C18 memory which is listed as compatible memory on the Asus website. Any ideas?

Hi Slash8789,
Did it boot successfully with 3600?
Does it occur with bios all default settings and only enable DOCP to 3600?
May I have the bios version, the model name of CPU and RAM?
Thank you.

1. No, it has never successfully booted with 3600 speed setting
2. It occurs with all BIOS settings on default. I am not sure if DOCP is enabled.
3. BIOS version is 4602. CPU is AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and the memory is CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz C18 (CMW16GX4M2C3600C18 ).

Hi Slash8789,
Do you mean it is 3600 with bios all default settings but doesn't boot, and you have to clear cmos once?
May I know how you check all bios settings on default? pressing F5 and then F10 in bios?
Is there any error message or q-led on?
If it boot up and you shut it down again, does it boot next time?
Thank you.

Let me see I can explain more clearly.

1. The computer boots fine with optimized default settings (yes f5 then f10). The default settings put the memory frequency at 2166MHz.
2. If I change the memory frequency to 3600MHZ (stock), the computer will not boot at all. Even if I enable DOCP and put the memory at 3600 it will not boot at all.

In order to get my computer to boot again I have to short circuit/clear the CMOS only once and then it will boot but, the memory frequency defaults back to 2166 MHz.

Hi Slash8789,
Thank you for your reply.
If you only install one ram stick in DIMM_A2 or two ram stick in DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2, does it boot successfully?
May I have the following information?
- the serial number of the motherboard via PM
- the brand and model name of your graphics card, hard drive, and PSU
- the bios settings
Thank you.

I know this issue is a year old, but it is exactly what is happening for me but with 64Gb of ram.
I have Ryzen 7-5700g, B450 bios 4007 x64. 64Gb Vengeance LPX 3600 won't go over 2133.

I will check for a bios update as well.
