A-volute and Nahimic stuff not getting fetched automatically, thereby causing problem

Sahaj
Level 7
On both windows 10 and 11, when you install audio drivers from ASUS package, windows no longer fetches software components by its own. They now appear under "Optional Updates". I have been using Z490-E since january 2021, and I clearly remember that windows update used to fetch nahimic media and avolute software components by itself. They would appear under drivers in the installed updates section.

If you won't download them, your sonic studio will give timeout error whenever you boot from windows fastboot.

Also another problem only on windows 11: Games are modifying realtek control panel amplifier setting and setting it to lowest. The entire option just disappears. It comes back only if I do retasking of audio jack.

Hi Crayraven,
Thank you for your reply.
If you install the Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.8960.1 from our support site, does it still occurs?
https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-crosshair/rog-crosshair-viii-dark-hero-model/helpdesk_download
Does it occurs with bios all default settings? or only with the specific bios settings?
Which headphones do you plugged in the front panel? Do you plugged in other speaker to the rear panel meanwhile?
May I have the following information?
- the serial number of the motherboard via PM
- the brand and the model name of your CPU, RAM, graphics card, OS SSD, PSU, pc case and
(Please check the specific model name of the RAM such as G.SKILL F4-3600C19D-16GSXK)
- OS version and OS build such as win11 21H2 22000.469
Thank you so much.

* Afaik it didn't happen with that version of the realtek audio drivers. Instead I had another bug, each time I restart my pc it wouldn't apply my microphone boost settings.

* It occurs with any bios setting

* Headphones are plugged in the front only. Currently using Logitech Pro X

* Not sure what my motherboard serial number is

* PC specs are as follows: Ryzen 5950x, G.Skill 64gb DDR4 3600mhz ( F4-3600C16Q-64GTZNC), Windows 11, Samsung 980 Pro nvme, Themaltake Toughpower 850w rgb, Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL

Hi Crayraven,
To make sure stability, I suggest use the driver from our support site.
For the microphone boost settings, may I have screenshots of microphone boost settings before and after restart?
Does it also occurs on bios 3904 with bios all default settings?
Please refer to the following link to check the serial number of the motherboard.

Please also help to check the OS version and OS build such as win11 21H2 22000.469
Thank you.

Have you been able to solve this problem? I am using windows 11 and have the same problem. There is no problem in Windows 10.

Hi huseyino,
Do you have Amplify level vanishing issue?
Thank you?

We're having the same issue under Windows 11, in my case is opening Conan Exiles.

I've been trying different versions (Mokichu's drivers) and nothing, clean installations, even fresh Win 11 install.

Using the drivers in Asus website is not an option, Amplify level doesn't work and microphone boosting doesn't work either.

My current PC is:
Ryzen 5800X
Rog Strix B550 Gaming F
32gb of ram 3600mhz
Windows 11

Never had a problem under Windows 10.

Hi cuentaaaa12,
Is the drivers in Asus website you mentioned Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.9238.1?
May I have more detail about amplify level and microphone boosting not working issues on Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.9238.1?
Thank you.

Using Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.9238.1 from Asus website.

https://streamable.com/79brs6
- Sonic Studio 3 doesn't work.
- Amplify level doesn't disappear this time but it's pretty useless if we can't use Sonic Studio 3 to modify it.
- Mic boosting has been fixed in V6.0.9238.1, the bug was on v6.0.8923.1.
- A-volute driver is missing or bugged, that's why Sonic Studio 3 doesn't work.

If we can fix Sonic Studio 3 everything will be fine.

Using RAD from Mokichu's:
https://streamable.com/4i8fmo

As you can see, SS3 works here, because we got A-Volute driver here for SS3.

Hi cuentaaaa12,
Thank you for your reply.
Is Sonic Studio 3 not working on bios 2604 with bios all default settings?
Did you reinstall Sonic Studio 3 when using Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.9238.1?
Have you also tried Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.9238.1 in win10?
Thank you.
