A-volute and Nahimic stuff not getting fetched automatically, thereby causing problem

Sahaj

On both windows 10 and 11, when you install audio drivers from ASUS package, windows no longer fetches software components by its own. They now appear under "Optional Updates". I have been using Z490-E since january 2021, and I clearly remember that windows update used to fetch nahimic media and avolute software components by itself. They would appear under drivers in the installed updates section.

If you won't download them, your sonic studio will give timeout error whenever you boot from windows fastboot.

Also another problem only on windows 11: Games are modifying realtek control panel amplifier setting and setting it to lowest. The entire option just disappears. It comes back only if I do retasking of audio jack.

Hi Sahaj,
Please disable fast startup to make sure it shutdown completely.
For the amplifier setting, have you tried bios 2403 with bios all default settings and the Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.9244.1?
Did it occur when analog speakers or headphones plugged in?
May I have screenshots or videos about how the issue occurs?
Thank you.

Hi I have been super busy lately. A new version of sonic studio 3 is available on windows store. I updated it today and this seems to have fixed the amplifier disappear issue. I will test more and let you know if any issues.

Edit: No it's still not fixed. Will post video soon

Hi Sahaj,
May I double confirm you have updated bios 2403 with bios all default settings and the Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.9244.1?
Which games do you playing when the amplifier disappear? also CSGO?
Does it occur with analog speakers or headphones plugged in?
I appreciate that if you can help to share a video.

Yes I am on latest BIOS and the latest realtek driver available on motherboard page.

Btw I'm using Logitech G PRO X now. It defaults to "Performance" mode by default so now this issue doesn't affect me. On my cloud alpha, it would default to 1 step higher i.e Powerful. When the amplifier setting disappears it changes the setting to Performance mode and hence you get lower sound.

Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwYRNFHru1w

Also, in the video I show how to bring back the amplifier setting.

I'm having the exact same issue with Amplify level vanishing. I'm using a Dark Hero motherboard. The problem began to happen when I updated the audio drivers from the armoury.

It seems to be a minor software issue. Definitely not a hardware issue

Hey Starrian,

I know exactly what game it is. Its Street Fighter V. Other games I play don't seem to do that.

I have headphones plugged in and the only way to fix the issue is to change to front panel setting from headphone to speaker then back to headphone.

I'm currently using bios version 3904 and Realtek audio version 6.0.9244.1

Hi Sahaj,
Thank you for your video.
Do you only connect Logitech G PRO X or cloud alpha to the front panel? or connect to other speaker meanwhile?
May I double confirm it occurs with bios all default settings? or only with the specific bios settings?
May I have the following information?
- the serial number of the motherboard via PM
- the brand and the model name of your CPU, RAM, graphics card, OS SSD, PSU and pc case
(Please check the specific model name of the RAM such as G.SKILL F4-3600C19D-16GSXK)
- OS version and OS build such as win11 21H2 22000.469
Thank you so much.

1. Yes I only use front panel connector. Edit: Same issue even on rear port.
2. At the time of that video, all bios settings were at default(even xmp off) except Nvme pci e which was set to highest.
3. i9 10850K, RTX 2070 FE, F4-4266C19D-16GTZR, Samsung 970 Evo 500gb NVMe, Antec HCG Extreme 1000W PSU, NZXT H510 elite case, Windows 11 Pro version 22000.438
