Z97 Deluxe 3.1/UEFI Not compatible with mechanical gaming keyboards

I don't believe this is an isolated issue; however, I don't see very many threads on it..

When you connect a gaming keyboard, one with tons of LEDS, upon pressing delete or F2 when attemting to get into the UEFI, it freezes,
and then you have to press the reset button in order for the computer to operate. My Bios/uefi version is 2302.

I tried both the Corsair RGB and Azio, and they both pose the same problem. It's very upsetting an annoying. And no, the BIOS switch
on the Corsair doesn't make a difference.

Now, I'm stuck using my old school, wireless Logitech keyboard because this is the only keyboard that doesn't cause the bios to freeze
when attempting to boot into the UEFI/bios.

I believe I heard something along the lines of these keyboards not really being compatible with UEFI???

I have been using a Corsair K70 RGB since the first came out on a Hero VII MB.

I also utilise UEFI and have since day one - just over a year ago with no problem.

Have you tried connecting the KB's via USB2 ports and not via USB3?

No. This doesn't make a difference.

Yes, and it makes no difference.

Some legacy USB peripherals are not compatible with the Z97 platform. If that is your case, go to the manufacturer's website and download an updated firmware for your peripheral. If none exists, then you can either disable xHCI in the BIOS at a cost of losing USB 3.0 functionality or buy a new device that is compatible.

Yea, I don't think disabling USB 3.0 is an option; a keyboard really isn't that important vs. USB speed. I don't see how a K70 keyboard is a legacy peripheral, though.

Can you explain that one?

This really sucks. How the heck are we supposed to know which motherboard is compatible with what keyboard? We can't exactly just return motherboards until we get one that's compatible. At first, I thought something was wrong with the motherboard and almost returned the entire computer. smh.
