Z370-F XMP profile not working after BIOS update (new build)

Hi everyone, I just upgraded from a Ryzen setup. *I never really did seem to get happy with the performance on my Ryzen setup, so that is why I decided on going for the change. I must admit, the BIOS in this ROG motherboard is really overwhelming to me, and there is so many terms I have never heard about.

My goal here is to set to most important parameters in the BIOS, get a stable CPU overclock (around 5GHz?) and get my RAM up to speed.

Where I am at: Now when I installed it all, everything booted up perfectly. I enabled XMP profile, it did a lot of changes for me and now my RAM were running 3200 MHz, along with, I think, some CPU overclocking. Then I decided to update the BIOS to latest version for good measure. However after doing that, XMP profile is no longer working. Computer won't boot at all with it, and I must clear cmos with jumpers on board to get anything on my screen again. Seems like something changed in the XMP profile or?

So really, I have no idea how to start, and would really appreciate some help.

I noticed something similar on my Apex Z370. After the Gen 9 bios (latest within the past week or so), when I go to enable the default der8auer profile, which I use to also enable XMP, I end in a no boot.

I ended up dropping back to N-1 BIOS and all is well again.

I think it seems to be related to the BIOS setting the wrong XMP memory timings when XMP gets enabled.

After flashing the latest BIOS my Maximus X Hero (WI-FI AC) is no longer usuable with four sticks of the same DDR4-4000 that worked flawlessly before. It still works flawlessly with only two of those sticks and it's a totally unstable worthless mess with all four sticks installed. I've already opened a ticket with ASUS, returned the board for "repair" and got it back the same way I sent it to them. Corsair replaced the RAM under warranty after I got it back (which was a futile exercise since nothing is wrong with the RAM) and now I am still waiting for them to make it right.

Perhaps you both should open a warranty/support ticket as well.

At the risk of getting an RMA board back, or even having to send my board in, no thank you. It's not a hardware issue as it's currently rock solid on 1401 BIOS. All profiles apply correctly, and XMP applies correctly on my 3866 memory. Only after upgrading to 1602, clearing NVRAM, applying der8auer adaptive profile including XMP, ends in no boot. Clear CMOS, and it boots again. Apply profile, no boot again. Absolutely BIOS related.
