Why is my CPU clock stuck? 7700K/270E

I overclocked my 7700K to 4.8GHz but it got stuck there.

It doesn't matter if the voltage is manual or adaptive it is still freaking stuck.

Also I applied default F5 settings and even there CPU is stuck with the maximum default frequency of 4.5GHz.

Please help!

I would say remove the battery on mobo to clear Cmos.

Did not work. Clocks are still on max frequency.

How did you overclock your CPU?

Pretty standard stuff. 300MHz overclock and voltage increase to 1.320v (adaptive/manual) for a total overclock of 4.8MHz.

But the thing is that I defaulted the UEFI and clock speed was lower of course but it still doesn't idle, it just keeps at 4.5GHz as it is the default clock this.

Make sure you're using the Balanced power plan in Windows.

Update your UEFI. That should always put you back to default. That shouldnt go wrong. Did you OC in in the UEFI and later with software?

As Chino said, double-check your Power settings in OS...
